February 1, 20251 yr Popular Post A Thai friend who is officiating at her local polling station tells me that voter turnout today is very low. Local/Provincial elections regularly have low turnouts but she says that so far, this is the lowest she's seen. Considering what happened in the General Election, if this turnout is a reflected in other areas, who could blame voters for being apathetic.

February 1, 20251 yr When came back from shopping today and put on 3BB TV - all the channels were showing but when you picked one - nothing - is that another election day paradigm in Thailand and do the powers that be really think either one has an impact on turnout

February 3, 20251 yr Not surprised. Been here seven years now and not once has the wife been approached to buy her vote. Seriously disappointing.

February 4, 20251 yr Popular Post Considering the hooliganism that goes on here with regard to voting, vote buying, overturned elections, and a complete and total denial of the democratic process, one can certainly understand why the public might be apathetic.
February 5, 20251 yr Most people don't care about local elections as they gave no idea who these people are. Local elections are not that important.
