We grow grass, and it serves a very practical purpose by keeping dust under control. We simply buy our fruit and vegetables from the local market or supermarket rather inexpensive. You don't have to be dumb, rich, or wealthy to appreciate having a well-maintained patch of grass around your home. People have different priorities and preferences, and there's nothing wrong with that. Belittling other people's choices simply because they differ from your own is, in my opinion, rather infantile, immature - and, ironically, rather dumb.
