Three men were killed after being struck by a train while sitting on the railway tracks in Lamphun province. The collision occurred at approximately 20:00 on 17 February, near the rear of the DoHome shopping centre in Umong subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun district.

Police from Mueang Lamphun Station, along with medical personnel and emergency responders, arrived at the scene to find the bodies of three men who had been thrown from the tracks upon impact. Their shocked companions, who were present at the scene, provided details of the incident.

According to their account, the group had arrived at the location around 17:00 in a pickup truck to catch birds. The three victims had been drinking near the railway tracks while waiting for their friends, who had ventured into nearby scrubland to find the birds. It is believed that the deceased, for some unknown reason, failed to notice the approaching train, which was heading towards Chiang Mai, resulting in the fatal collision.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident further. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to hospital for examination. The names of the victims has not been disclosed.

Shocked companions? What is that all about? What were their companions doing as the train was hurtling toward their friends? Why didn't they say anything, why didn't they pull them off the tracks?

There are so many unanswered questions here, but there's one thing that's for sure, you never want to get in the way of an oncoming train, under any circumstances.

It would appear these guys lacked high quality survival instincts. They are necessary to thrive in this world.
