My CPA filed my tax teturn on a monday.  I was expecting a refund (normally a small one) a month or even later. .  Instead I got my refund deposited 7 days later.  This was the largest refund I have received in over 4 years.  This is the fasted the iRS has processed my return and deposited the refund into my account.  I was expecting the worst from the  IRS but was surprised.  Also, I  always submit an itemized deduction tax return.

I filed on 1/28 (here), refund deposited 2/6.

I don't read much into that, just assumed that early filers don't represent that much volume so their returns are easily processed, likely automatically.

Last year my return was filed on Jan 28 and the refund was direct deposited on FEB 20. For me this was very fast.

I think Musk intends to fire 6,000 probationary employees at the IRS, but they haven't been fired yet.

Again, I don't read a lot into our two experiences.

Here's a helpful tip for dealing with the IRS during the DOGE audits:  Don't threaten to assassinate Musk.

On Monday, Libs of TikTok uncovered a video by alleged TikToker named Sarah C. Roberts.

“I promised myself I would avoid the news, but obviously, I haven’t,” Roberts began before turning her attention to Musk.

“Elon Musk, we need to X him,” she continued while making a throat-slash gesture. “And by X, I mean formally known as assassination.”

(Roberts) then said she knew the FBI would show up and challenged them to arrest her before taunting law enforcement, claiming they did not have enough resources to investigate her. She also boasted she had not filed her taxes in eight years.

The TikToker then closed by saying: “Let’s assassinate some motherf***ers!”

Duly noted. Thx for letting us know. We’ll put you in the system. Talk soon, M’am.
