Hi, I'm flying to BKK to Hong Kong next month with carry on baggage only. I want to take my electric toothbrush but I've heard they can be confiscated due to the pointed tong that holds the brush.

Anyone with any info? I could contact the airline but it's not them that decides, it's security.

Thanks

I always put in carry on luggage as most electric toothbrushes  contains lithium-ion batteries

I always use the plastic storage case that came with the toothbrush space for toothbrush and 2 spare heads

It might attract security attention if it was in luggage without storage case

I used to carry a sharp dental pick through multiple countries but it got confiscated by Hong Kong security.  But I've probably crossed through HK at least 40 times with an electric toothbrush in carry on and they've never said a word.
