Grass For Shady Area Of My Garden

My japanese grass has died. Apparently, its not suitable for shady areas. Now I have a malay type with broad leaves invading into the dead patch. As Im not fond of this grass, is there another type which can grow well in shady areas? Something that looks as good as the japanese type would be great. Not fussed if if needs more maintainance as I kinda like gardening anyway.
