I’ve prepared some documents for my application and would appreciate some advice on whether these will suffice:

  • Recent photo (I'll just use a digital upload of a recent passport photo)
  • Proof of current location:
    • Primary: Biodata page of my passport
    • Alternative: Driving licence
    • Last resort: Temporary lodging agreement from relatives in the UK
  • Marriage certificate (digital copy – front and back)
  • Thai bank statement showing 400k: They want it recent but I’m unsure how recent this needs to be—do they require several months of history or just a single month’s statement? Also, my Thai bank statement from Bank of Ayudhya doesn’t show my Thai address—would this be an issue? Also what do they mean by "no screenshots" ? They just want PDFs right?
  • Wife’s Thai ID card
  • Daughter’s Thai ID card

I’m also unsure about the following documents as I've seen others post on this topic that they needed these but some have said they have since slimmed down the requirements, my wife is a very busy woman and I don't want to pressure her into writing a letter:

  • Invitation letter from my wife – Is this necessary?
  • Wife's tambien baan - Is this necessary?
  • Thai address – Do they require proof such as rental agreement?
  • Plane ticket – Do I need to provide evidence of my travel to Thailand?

Any insights offered would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Last year London specially asked me for this for a non O application. Not to say they will for you but be prepared in case.

This attached site is not official immigration site however has clear general guidelines regarding docs etc.

For example you mention bank statements.

In the attached article it suggests 2 months.

https://www.siam-legal.com/thailand-visa/Thailand-Marriage-Visa.php

I'll prepare a two months' statement then.  Hopefully that will be recent enough for them. Do you know what they mean by "no screenshots" ?

Thinking perhaps referring to app generated bank statement being a No and wanting a bank issued statement with the bank stamp + signature.

Re Upnotover post needing flight into Thailand, I agree that most likely be required.

As you typed...that's not an issue for you.

I used a downloaded statement from Kasikorn. No stamps, no signature. 1 month only as I recall.

Regarding statement, I have like the other poster used a downloaded statement from my Thai account and that has been accepted without a problem, bit difficult to get signatures in the UK. I think by "screenshots" they mean copies/photos of the screen which can often be distorted by reflection or incomplete. I have done a great deal of visa applications to various places and found 3 months to be like a benchmark, but up to you.

I think the invitation would be required. I knew about it and my wife did it before I left. However I helped a friend in the UK to do his and suggested he get his wife to just write a note with name and address and phone number to say she expected him to arrive in Thailand on such and such a date. She could then photo the note to him and just upload that. She did it in Thai and it was accepted no problem. The guidance says all documents should be in English but they do accept Thai.

I have never used wife's Tabian Baan, only ID card and never been asked about the accommodation.   I have never supplied flight booking, only flight No going into Bangkok but there has been reports of people being asked so probably prudent to have it available.

I  have only used the passport page as proof  of residence and not been a problem.

You need to upload something for each question, unless they have changed it recently there are 2 financial questions, Nos 4 and 10. I think 10 was the statement so for Q4 you can just make a note along the lines of referring to Q10, take a photo and upload it.

Good luck.
