Fox News Poll Finds Donald Trump Approval Underwater on Economy

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

In the latest Fox News polling, which was carried out from March 14 to 17, a majority of registered voters said they disapprove of Trump's handling of the economy thus far: 56 percent of respondents disapproved while 43 percent approved—meaning the president's approval on the issue is underwater by a double-digit 13 point margin.

Notably, that's a sharp reversal from the trend during Trump's first term in office, when his approval on handling the economy was consistently above water in Fox News polls. Even in December 2020 right before he left office, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Trump's approval on the economy stood at 52 percent, with 48 percent disapproving.

  • I'm usually not a big fan of my dentist in the early minutes of a root canal, either.  But it has to be done, and the results are worth it.

But what about if the dentist is lying and the problem that he claims warrants a root canal really just needs a bit of flossing?

I fully expect all extreme left posters to denounce this poll as they normally do when anyone even mentions anything to do with faux news.

You'll get a link showing 9 out of 10 dentists think Trump is a fascist.

In the same Poll, Trump received a 51% job rating approval, Musk received 58% approval, JD Vance 53% approval.

Congressional Republicans got a 55% approval, Congressional democrats got a 66% disapproval.

Fox News Poll: Trump, Republicans at record-high ratings as Democrats falter | Fox News

Cherry picking poll data to match one's cognitive bias (as I arguably have done above to demonstrate cherry picking) rarely leads to an informed opinion. Read all the poll results and form your own opinion on the real world. There are lots of positive, negative, and neutral poll results covering a multitude of topics.

And pay attention to the wording of the questions, the margin of error, the sample size, and method of recipient contact, perhaps most importantly which way the particular survey organisation leans, and leans by how many degrees.

The same "question" asked using different words by a left or right leaning organisation often elicits different results greater than the supposed margin of error. :coffee1:

Ultimately, it's voters perception of the economy that determines the outcome of elections.

Actually, the poll shows Trump with a 49% job approval and the 51% disapproval

You are correct, my apologies for the typo. Maybe that was my cognitive bias deceiving my right hemisphere - I'll have to be less subjective. :coffee1:

Do you remember how congressional elections turned out two years into Trump's first term?

I agree. Generally speaking, the "economy" does historically determine most outcomes.  But the economy is now perceived on a multi-level basis by voters - inflation, taxation, price of energy etc. And the 2024 election had the added complications of institutionalized wokery and immigration.  These surveys should be very enlightening to anybody with an open mind, left or right leaning.

It don't matter. 8 years of power. 2019 was his best year.

Don't you have any non Trump hobbies?

I agree it was Trump's best year given that the Congressional elections stymied him from advancing his agenda.

As for the personal comment, just more evidence that you have nothing.

In that same poll 70% endorsed birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants.

61% opposed tariffs on Canada. 56% opposed tariffs on Mexico.

What is with your need to label things? Why do you insist on labeling anyone who questions the Trump agenda a leftist?

Ok, then why show up and call anyone you disagree with an extreme leftist?

Really? The same groups who are opposed to vaccinations also attack the use of root canals. They object to the injection of the gutta-percha and the use of a zinc oxide based cement.  Did you check with the Maga collective thought HQ for the opinion to express when referencing this procedure?

Arguing that the ends justify the means is contrary to US  and other civilized nations' belief systems, but you know who was a proponent don't you?

4? Maybe not. Midterms are November 2026. 20 months or 1.75 years from now. A small change in the House and hopefully the Senate will clip the wings of the administration and may result in impeachment proceedings. Patience is a virtue.
