Wise Money Transfer

Featured Replies

Is anyone else finding it impossible to sign in to their Wise account? The log-in button does not go live, but just spins... for ever.  And you cannot get Help, or complain, because you have to log in first.

Everything was fine up until December last year. i have tried from different laptops - same non-result.

Alternative recommendations welcome.

No. I don't possess a smartphone.  But I have just now tried to set up a new account - the screen froze as I typed in my email, then I got the spinning star on the 'Next' button, then blank screen with spinning star.  There seems to be something seriously effed up with the wise.com website.

Also, I notice on general consumer blogs that Wise has been getting very bad reviews just this year.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks again, scube:

Download 12.8Mbps; Upload 5.5Mbps; latency (London) 248.8ms.

I have heard of complaints about internet bandwidth in Khao Lak.

That's easy enough speed, maybe try a different browser see if that makes any difference, Chrome, Opera, Brave, etc

No, I just logged into my account from the laptop not a problem, however I usually use the app because it's far easier and more secure, and the apps working fine too. Have you tried with a different browser, and if using a VPN then try logging in with the VPN off.

Just tried the logon on the PC.

Worked but for some reason they wanted confirmation via the app which I did. Then they write it's a "new device" and I have to confirm in the email they sent me.

I did and now can logon without confirmation as I desire.

It was by no way a new device, no VPN used...

?

Used Windows 10 and Chrome.

I have no other suggestion than already mentioned.

Use another browser, check any addons in the browser, "safety"/"security" SW that often makes more harm than good.

Try the "anonymous"/"private" features of the browser (no cookies read/set).

Wise is working fine for me .. I have logged in multiple times in the past 3 weeks from Thailand,  Singapore and Australia.  I can log on both with an Android  smartphone Wise app and also from my laptop PC ( running GNU/Linux).  When I use the PC to log in, it sends a verification request to my smartphone for me to confirm it is me.

For the OP, are you certain a verification request is not being sent to your smartphone?

Thanks guys.

BenQ - I tried signing in from Firefox "private" - the login page just froze again, couldn't even complete my email address.  Stocky - I don't use a VPN.  Oldcpu - I don't possess a smartphone.

I guess I'll have to try a different browser.  Everything was fine last year.  When I started my career in software development (in the 70's) one of the golden rules was to make software updates backwards-compatible. Those were the days.

I just attempted to make a transfer of USD to THB through the app, as I normally do. The arrives by date is April 1st! Possibky six days for a transfer??? Been with them three years and im ready to make a switch. Any recommendations?

I did receive a few notices from Wise that they were having issues with international transfers, but later on an email indicated the issue had been resolved. It hasn't been a good year for them, a ton of problems. FFS, time for them to get their sh*t together.

Try using a different browser

You might try Waterfox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterfox

instead of Firefox.

(I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are issues with FF these days).

Also Ecosia as a search engine, if you like software  with a handcrafted feel rather than the mass produced stuff.

They allow you to open a new account??

I tried that and was told by wise that this is not possible.

I never had any problem, with my notebook and with mobile application as well.

Maybe VPN issue ? I use a VPN and never had any problem too

Try reply[at]support.wise.com

I suspect you have a VPN active?
Deactivate and retry

I would strongly suggest this is a problem on your computer(s).  I have had not problems on either PC or phone app.

I guess if you can't log in, your only alternative to call one of their helpline numbers:

+44 808 175 1506

+32 262 03 420

+1 888 501 4041

+1-888-908-3833

When you enter the reason for the transfer, the arrival times differ, by quite a bit!

Personal expenses, etc., are the fastest, you can see what works for you.

My laptop is as slow as a snail, but doing a transfer on Wise.

No problem, 2 days ago and almost instantly transferred.

Had to wait maybe 2 Mississippi's and bang transferred.

I was amazed., that quick.

Chrome browser with duckduck go

Isnt this something to do with CAPTCHA...thats what it said to me and upgrade browser which I did .Made no difference.I have the app so can still send money .No idea what CAP[TCHA  is..

For years I was wondering why my transfers were slow, sometimes the next day, whilst many others were reporting instant transfers.

I finally cracked it. I had been using 'funds for long term stay' as my reason and, apparently that is what was causing the delay. Once I switched to 'personal expenses' 99% of my transfers have been instantaneous. Apparently 'funds for property purchase' will also slow down a transfer, although I've never tried it.

Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart

So now you know. You get those pics then to show where a bicycle is or a bunch of letters and numbers to be filled in right

I also had a problem this week, I coud not the complete the transfer from my US bank to my Thai bank unless I sent Wise a recent bank statement "verifying my bank account" from my  US bank within 2 days. (I have used this account for about 5 years).  I verified the account and the transfer is back on track.

Did 2 transfers yesterday on my laptop. A bit more longwinded these days as they have to send a pass no. But no issues for me. Both transfers almost instantaneous.

Think it must be your internet speed or connection.
