Poor little Billy has been blind since birth, never has even a sliver of light entered his darkness. But one evening his mother says to him, "Billy my dear, tomorrow is going to be a special day. The biggest day of your life. Because tomorrow you are going to see the world for the first time. That's right, baby, you will no longer be blind."

Billy is excited beyond belief. He has a million questions. What will it be like? What will colors look like? But Mother calms him down and says go brush your teeth, say your prayers, get a good night sleep, and you will see it all for yourself tomorrow. Billy is almost too excited to sleep at all.

The next morning Mother sneaks up to his dark room and calls softly from the door, "Billy, time to wake up, today's your big day." Billy sits up in bed, rubs his eyes and waits as Mother says she'll turn on the light at the count of three. One, two, three..."CLICK". The light comes on, but Billy's voice is cracking and full of sorrow. "Mom, I'm still blind, I can't see anything."

Mom sings out through her laughing, "I know, APRIL FOOOOLS!"
