Two Schoolboys Seriously Injured in Motorbike Collision with Pickup Truck

Two schoolboys suffered serious injuries after their motorbike crashed into the rear of a pickup truck that made a sudden turn in Tak Fa district, Nakhon Sawan.

 

The crash occurred at around 17:30 on 31 March in front of a tyre repair shop along Phahonyothin Road in Ban Huai Haeng. The injured students, aged 14 and 15, had been riding home after collecting their school certificates from Takhli district. A female classmate, who was riding another motorbike ahead of them, returned to the scene after realising they were no longer following her.

 

The 15 year old student, who had been riding as a passenger, explained that his younger classmate was driving when the pickup truck in front suddenly slowed down and turned left. Unable to react in time, they collided with the back of the vehicle. The younger boy sustained facial and body injuries, experiencing dizziness and memory lapses, while the older boy suffered head trauma and a left ankle injury.

 

The pickup truck driver, a woman who declined to give her name, briefly stated, “I was turning left and didn’t expect a motorbike to be riding so close behind.”

 

Local police in Tak Fa are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.

I'm sure the boy driving the motorcycle went to a proper driving school as well as had a legal motorcycle license.....RIGHT!

They don't learn anything.... Once in my class a student in 5th grade had several wounds and I asked him what happened he told me he fell with a motorcycle.. I told him you are too young and not allowed and they all laughed.. A few months later I saw him sitting in my class with his leg and arm in plaster and I said to him: "motorcycle?" and he laughed and so did the whole class but he admitted .. I told that is 2  times and next I have to come to your cremation as it is getting worse?.. And than he did not laugh anymore... but I am sure he kept on going riding on a motorcycle.. Parents, policemen, and everybody should do something to protect the kids, but nobody cares..Every week it seems there is at least 1 story of teenagers  involved in accidents... Ok it their country, so their problem, but I will never understand why nobody cares

The same all over Thailand... 

 

Luckily the lads didn't kill themselves...  next time may be a different story...  will they have learned anything from this ? unlikely.

 

And of course, no mention of a 14 year old riding without a license....  which really, bigger picture, matters little because its not a 'license' that matters...  Its effective training thats is can be proven with a license - and of course, there is no effective training here....   and thats the underlying major issue.
