Bangkok Immigration Government Complex: something new I should know?

Hello everyone,

My visa will end on April 18. Due to Songkran, I'll go to Government Complex on Wednesday or Thursday this week.

 

My last trip was one year ago, is there something new I should know in 2025?

You are referring to your extension expiring? Extension based on retirement? Money in bank method? 

Suggest you have a TM30 + usual other docs.

 

Nothing new. Any acknowledgement forms etc will be given at doc check.

I've everything already print here: TM30, TM7, Form Acknowledgement of Overstay Penalties, Form STM2, One photo. YOYA stick!

So, if nothing new, no problem. Also I'll go directly to building B: last year, as I didn't go to GC since many years I went to building A first... 😒

Visa expirations don't matter as visa was already used on entry (if you in fact  had one; nowadays most non-residents enter visa exempt). Visa exopiration is the date by which you must use the visa for entry, not the  date yoylu can stay till.  What matters is your approved length of stay as indicated on the stamp you received on entry.

 

If that date is coming up then what you need is an  extnsion of stay, snd presumably this is what you mean. In which case you are all set except that I think in Bkk sppointment in advance may be required.. @DrJack54?

 

But if you actually had a visa, and it is the expiration date shown  on that visa you refer to then you need to check your entry stamp to see if/when extension is needed.

What visa type ends on April 18.

What are you going to immigration for?

Appointments are not required for services at CW including extensions.

In addition currently appointment slots are few and far between.

I'm not sure what status the OP has and what he is attending immigration for.

That was also vague. Seems OP entered Thailand with a single entry tourist visa (e-Visa) and that would have given him a 60 day permission of stay stamp. (He has no visa)

Seems now wishes to go to CW for 30 day extension.

Apart from basic copies of pp immigration most likely require a TM30.

Sure thing. As explained you do not have a visa.

Also a clear easy statement such as ..

 

"Going to CW for 30 day extension any change to required documents" 

Would have been clear rather than cryptic OP.

If it's a new visa that you're after, you need to be heading to a Thai embassy or consulate in an adjoining country (eg Savannakhet), not the Bangkok Immigration Office!

As already stated, the validity of a visa and the validity of any permission of stay are different.
The validity of the visa is the period in which you can use it to enter Thailand, then on entry the IO grants you a period of stay, which is 60 days on a Tourist visa.

You can extend that period of stay for 30 days at Immigration offices. You cannot extend a visa.

 

I'm guessing it's your permitted period of stay that expires on 18th April, (as printed on your entry stamp) and it's your intention to apply for a 30 day extension to That permitted period of stay.

He obtained an e-Visa (tourist) and entered ~mid Feb. 

The 60 day stamp will expire April 18.

He needs to attend CW for 30 day extension.

Is aware of requirements.

Asked if anything new. Answer No.

Good news for the OP is that if it is indeed a 30 day extension wanted there are appointments available every day for that, makes life easier.

There are slots on Thurs Fri.
