In a tragic car accident on Phetchakasem Road, Prachuap Khiri Khan, a nine-month-old baby boy emerged as the sole survivor, while his parents and grandmother sadly lost their lives. The heartbreaking story was shared by Dr Yingyos of Yingyos Orthopaedic Clinic on social media, revealing the infant's fortunate escape thanks to being secured in a car seat.

Dr Yingyos visited the baby in hospital, having reviewed X-rays that indicated the boy's injuries were not severe—a minor leg fracture expected to heal in a few weeks without surgery. However, the visit took an emotional turn upon learning from a nurse that the baby's parents and grandmother perished in the crash, leaving the child bereaved.

The accident occurred when the baby's father collided with a truck, completely destroying the vehicle. Despite the wreck's severity, the baby was safeguarded by his car seat, underscoring the critical importance of such safety measures. Dr Yingyos emphasized this point, noting that many Thai parents skip providing car seats due to cost considerations but stressed their value in ensuring child safety.

The doctor also urged drivers to exercise caution on Phetchakasem Road, notorious for its potential hazards, including the risk of drivers dozing off on the long stretch.

Following the accident, the baby has been placed under his aunt's care, who traveled to Bangkok to assume guardianship. Meanwhile, the family will soon hold a funeral in their home province for the deceased members.

This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the unpredictability of life and the vital importance of proper child safety measures in vehicles. The story has resonated deeply, encouraging renewed awareness and adoption of safety practices among parents and motorists alike.
