Report Pattaya Cannabis Shop Attack Sparks Urgent Security Concerns

In a distressing incident that has heightened security fears across Thailand's booming cannabis industry, a female employee was viciously assaulted at a Pattaya cannabis shop late at night. The alarming event unfolded just steps away from the bustling Tony Intersection on South Pattaya Road, near a traffic police booth, around 11 pm on April 25.

 

The victim, identified only as Ms Wadee, faced a harrowing ordeal when a seemingly disturbed Thai man entered the shop. Showing signs of erratic behaviour, with trembling hands and a piercing stare, the man initially sought information about cannabis prices. His harmless inquiry quickly took a menacing turn as he blocked Ms Wadee's path, trapping her inside the shop.

 

In an attempt to diffuse the tension, Ms Wadee feigned a need to use the toilet. Her ruse backfired when the man forcefully shoved her into the small space and began a brutal assault, punching her repeatedly in the stomach. The attack escalated into a violent struggle, with furniture tumbling to the floor, creating a brief but crucial distraction that Ms Wadee exploited to her advantage.

 

In a desperate attempt to placate her aggressor, Ms Wadee inquired whether he was after money. Rather than responding, the intruder bolted from the scene, leaving Ms Wadee physically bruised and deeply shaken by the encounter.

 

 

 

In the aftermath, Ms Wadee is urgently calling on local authorities for swift action, expressing fears that the assailant could target others if not apprehended. Her experience highlights a critical need for improved security measures within the cannabis retail environment, especially as the industry expands rapidly in Thailand.

 

This incident has sparked discussions about the necessity of reinforcing safety protocols to protect employees and customers from unpredictable threats. Measures such as enhanced surveillance, increased security personnel, and better emergency response strategies are being advocated to prevent similar occurrences.
