I’m a technical designer & project manager with a lot of experience doing design for manufacture in the states. Now that I’m in Bangkok I’ve been wondering what opportunities there might be for freelance / consulting work as a manufacturing liaison, i.e. basically helping western companies trying to produce products in SE Asia. Wondering if anyone here is doing this sort of work, or anything at all related in the the manufacutring space, and wouldn’t mind chatting. Or maybe you just have some leads on companies to check out or recruiters to link up with. I’m in BKK based but interested in anything SE Asia oriented.

Wow thanks for sharing that, there's some really interesting stuff in there (like how farangs are barred from being tour guides, who knew!). I'm not really seeing anything in there that could remotely apply to what I'm talking about. Most of the FBA "strictly prohibited jobs" are quite menial, while I'm talking about fairly specialized work for companies that aren't even necessarily located in Thailand, or might be doing business in other countries entirely....

But if you're saying something about the general situation here, I'd be grateful if you took the time to expand on it a bit. I'm quite new here, and genuinely trying to figure out what's up. Cheers
