I am glad someone else said it.

The crappy seed oil that thai people use is a factor. While that deep-fried chicken from a street food stall tastes so nice, and so many make videos to put on Youtube saying how Thai street food is the best, the problem is the crappy oil it's been cooked in to start with.

Yes the seed oil is pretty bad but my god just go to the grocery stores. They can't stack enough sugary junk whether it's cola's, cookies, cakes, confections, cereals, chocolates, candies, creams, chocolate chips, cans of crap, etc.

Government workers are possibly the largest group, perhaps led by the staff at the Ministry of Health.

More than 56% of people living in Bangkok suffer from abdominal obesity, putting them at greater risk of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) than those living in other provinces, said Public Health Minister Somsak Thepsutin.

The minister unveiled the figures on Sunday during the launch of an NCD event in Bangkok to discuss why the capital’s residents are stricken with higher rates of diabetes, hypertension and cardiac disease, compared to people in other parts of the country.

A recent study showed 56.1% of people in Bangkok had abdominal obesity, compared to 39.4% nationwide. Some 12.5% of people in the capital were diagnosed with diabetes, while only 9.5% of people nationwide have diabetes.

wonder what most posters here look like in their keks.

wealthier people can afford more non-essential foods, which tend to be junk foods ..

also, they can afford more western foods like pizza more often than rural thais , if rural thais eat it at all

Not so sure about that. Eating fresh food is expensive. The poor eat cheap processed crap for pennies.

The same basics with a few local differentiations added in, still made from the same basic ingredients.

absolute nonsense as usual. I think you are trolling me but just in case here is the most simplistic English explanation I could find for you.

I knew about Thailand and it's food 30 plus years ago, long before I moved here. Assuming I don't is yet another of your daily assumptions. You're missing my point of basic ingredients. Showing me links of things I knew decades ago isn't helping. I know about the regions of Thailand and their different cuisines. They have the same styles all over the US, and in Texas where I came from.

One restaurant owner is from Korat, one is from Chiang Mai, one is from Bangkok, one is from Hua Hin, one is from the deep south and two are from Isaan. These are the restaurants just in San Antonio, let alone Austin, Dallas, Houston and the Hill Country, where we've also eaten.

Curries,Pork, Yellow, Red and Green,  Stir Fry of many types, Tom Yum Pla,  Som Tam, Nu man hoy, Laab, Gai Yang and more. I've had all types of Thai food living there and in New Jersey as has my family and friends. Almost anything you get here you can in the US, especially in big cities where a lot of Thai live, like San Antonio.

If you would spend some time in the US instead of assuming you know what goes on there, you wouldn't waste so many here's time on subjects you're only knowledge is from others videos.

True, you would be an outcast just like here. And more than half of Americans aren't Maga, meaning on Trump's side, although we all want America to be great. . Some are on the left and many are in the middle. And if people are smarter than you and you call them morons, what does that make you? Assuming again.

There wouldn’t be too many farangs in Thailand that have assimilated into Thai culture as smoothly as me Fred.

I still don’t get why you are here and not back there.
You complain endlessly but never leave.

Not a difficult choice for you because of where youre from. I would bow down to thais too with no complaints if i were you. But dont delude yourself into thinking thailand is better than the west for anything but thai women

You don't seem to understand almost every statement you make is an assumption. There are many thousands of foreigners living in Thailand now. You might know maybe 30 or so, and not know them well enough to assume much about them. That leaves thousands more you know absolutely nothing about, so how do you think you assimilated into Thailand better than them?

I've said this many times before but I'll say it again. I'm staying here until I can "assimilate" back home with my daughter, as moving takes time, money and patience.

Exactly. The US alone has everything anyone could ever want from any country, including Thai women, but there you'll have to be younger.
