Accident Fall Death of 17-Year-Old in Pathum Thani
Picture courtesy of Amarin In the early hours of May 23, a 17-year-old male was found dead after falling from the fifth floor of a dormitory building in Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok 20 Alley, Prathum Thani Province. The incident occurred around 00:30, prompting an immediate response from local police, emergency medical servicesand rescue volunteers. The deceased, identified only as “Mr. A”, was discovered lying on his side in a pool of blood near the motorcycle parking area adjacent to the building. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt and white shorts, with visible head injuries and broken limbs. Preliminary investigations indicated that he had fallen from Room 501 on the fifth floor. Additionally, an air conditioning unit on the first floor was damaged from impact, as he fell. According to Mr. Surachai, the 29-year-old owner of the room and a friend of the deceased, Mr. A had returned to the dormitory around 23:00 after handling some academic matters in Bangkok. They had a brief conversation about Mr. A’s desire to return to work, to which Mr. Surachai responded by suggesting he had recently dealt with academic issues. Mr. A then went downstairs but returned shortly after, expressing that he had nowhere else to go. Mr. Surachai heard a noise from the back door and upon checking, found Mr. A had fallen or jumped. The victim’s mother, Mrs. Chanthara, arrived at the scene visibly distraught. She explained that she had been unable to reach her son by phone and was unaware of his whereabouts. She mentioned that they had not argued recently and had communicated via chat earlier that day. She confirmed that her son was not suffering from depression and left home around 22:00. Police Lieutenant Colonel Sawat Khongkaew, the investigating officer, documented the scene and conducted an inspection of the room, finding only a bag of clothing. The authorities have taken Mr. Surachai and the mother for further questioning and have sent the body to Thammasat University Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Accident Miraculous Sea Rescue: Myanmar Fisherman Found Alive After 6 Hours Adrift

A Myanmar crewman narrowly escaped death after falling overboard in the early hours of the morning and drifting for nearly six hours in rough seas off the coast of Satun province. At approximately 06:00 on 23 May, the Satun Port Control Centre received an emergency report of a missing crew member from the fishing vessel Singh Decho 5, a pair trawler operating in Satun waters. The crewman, later identified as Mr. Mauso Tonoo, a Myanmar national, was believed to have gone overboard between 03:00 and 05:00 during a night of turbulent seas. Vice Admiral Suwat Donsakul, Director of the Naval Operations Command for Maritime Security in Region 3 (NRSA Region 3), issued an immediate search order. Captain Ratphon Kaewkrajai, head of Satun’s Coastal Security Control Centre (CSCC), led the rescue operation, deploying the high-speed patrol vessel NRSA 4006. A breakthrough came at 08:45 when Singh Decho 5 reported spotting Mr. Tonoo floating near the fishing zone. The crew successfully pulled him aboard, triggering cheers of relief and joy from those on board. Video footage of the dramatic rescue, bringing Mr. Tonoo to safety, quickly went viral on social media. The incident has been widely praised as a testament to the readiness and coordination of Thailand’s maritime emergency services, in coordinating the successful rescue. Authorities stressed that Mr. Tonoo’s survival was extraordinary and not a guarantee for those who do not take proper safety precautions.His story stands as both a good news tale and a powerful reminder of the ever-present dangers at sea. -
