The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has partnered with Advanced Info Service (AIS) to launch the "Sukjai Travel Thailand – Aunjai Everywhere" campaign, aiming to invigorate domestic tourism and foster community-based income. This initiative highlights both popular and lesser-known destinations, kicking off with a vibrant event on Banthat Thong Road in Bangkok, renowned for its culinary appeal among locals and tourists alike.

AIS Chief Executive Somchai Lertsutiwong emphasized the campaign’s goal to position Thailand as a premier regional tourism hub while promoting equitable income distribution via AIS’s robust digital network. By collaborating with the Banthat Thong Business Entrepreneurs Association, AIS is set to roll out three ongoing campaigns that offer exclusive benefits to visitors.

Tourists, whether locals or foreigners using AIS SIM cards, can engage with 10 designated Aunjai check-in points along Banthat Thong Road via the myAIS app. Scanning a QR code allows collectors to earn up to 50 AIS Points, and those who complete all check-ins receive a complimentary signature dish from participating eateries throughout June.

Further enhancing the experience, AIS customers can utilize 40 AIS points to avail a 40-baht discount at over 100 popular restaurants in the area, an offer valid until the year's end.

In tandem with this campaign, AIS has expanded point redemption opportunities at leading restaurants across 87 local festivals in 59 provinces. Additionally, AIS Lucky Tourist SIM cardholders benefit from perks showcasing Thailand's cultural allure, such as discounted entry to Rajadamnern Muay Thai Stadium and Khao Kheow Zoo, King Power shopping vouchers, access to Central lounge services, and complimentary travel insurance.

This strategic collaboration between TAT and AIS seeks not only to enhance the domestic tourism landscape but also to enrich the travel experience for modern, digitally-savvy tourists, driving economic growth within local communities.

Domestic tourism often does when incentivised.

I had some great deals during Covid.

Do you think the above are incentives enough to boost domestic travel?
