Report Thai Police Capture Notorious Chinese National Linked to Major Scams

In a significant crackdown on international crime, Thai police have detained Wu Feng Ma, also known as Amah or Afei, a 41-year-old Chinese national, in Bangkok's Din Daeng district. Ma is reportedly a central figure in a call centre scam defrauding Chinese citizens of over 10 billion baht (approximately US$306 million) and is also suspected of facilitating illegal Chinese migration into neighbouring countries.

 

The arrest was spearheaded by high-ranking officials, including Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom, the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, and Police Colonel Warut Kumla of the Metropolitan Police Division 3. The Mae Sot Provincial Court issued the warrant for Ma's arrest on February 16, on charges related to harbouring illegal immigrants.

 

The investigation began on March 3, 2022, when immigration authorities in Tak province intercepted Ekkanat, who was channeling three illegal Chinese immigrants in a Toyota taxi. Tracing his actions unveiled a wider network involving multiple suspects, such as Pittiphat and Laoching, and culminated in linking Ma to these activities. Financial transactions monitored by authorities showed Ma's involvement in funding accommodation and logistics for the illicit operations.

 

Further intelligence revealed Ma's ownership of an illicit entertainment venue raided on November 5 last year. The raid uncovered 31 illegal tourists and staff, in addition to drugs and paraphernalia, thereby cementing Ma's connection to widespread criminal activity.

 

Communication with Chinese authorities shed light on Ma's extended operations involving a sophisticated call centre fraud network targeting Wuhan, China, making him a prime suspect in both countries. He is also linked to human trafficking activities extending into Myanmar.

 

Moreover, investigations revealed ties between Ma and Ekkanat, a former navy officer implicated in the murder of Lim Kimya, a former Cambodian opposition member of parliament in January. Ma's presence at a hotel booked by Ekkanat in Chiang Rai around this time has further mired him in cross-border criminal undertakings.

 

Ma is currently in custody, preparing for transfer to the Mae Sot Police Station in Chiang Rai for further investigation and legal proceedings. This arrest marks a critical step in multinational efforts to dismantle organized crime networks exploiting legal loopholes and affecting victims across borders.

There appears to be confusion in the original post as to which police station. I wonder which one?

Mae Sot Police Station is in Tak Province whereas Mae Sai Police Station is in Chiang Rai Province

Mr Wu Feng Ma has 10 billion baht to spend, what do think how justice will follow it's course ?  He is a very interesting source, a ticket to heaven, it doesn't matter what we read in the news the next few days.

This could be a "collar" given to Thai police by dark Public Security Bureau offices in Thailand the PSB has illegal offices in many countries extending the king arm if the black hand. When the triads turn their crime to the PRC and enough people are affected they have acted in the past.

The best thing would be to turn Ma over to the Chinese.

While China turns a blind eye to most crimes their citizens commit overseas, these call centers target China and the CCP is very sensitive to their citizens having their life savings stolen.

If Ma gets turned over to China, he will live the remainder of his life in a hard labor camp, whereas he would be able to buy a comfortable prison life in Thailand.
