The Pheu Thai Party, leading the current coalition, has issued a firm directive to its coalition partner, Bhumjaithai, to relinquish the coveted Interior Portfolio. This ultimatum comes with a tight deadline, wherein the second-largest coalition partner must comply within days or face expulsion from the government coalition.

Eight Soldiers Injured After Army Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Ubon Ratchathani

Eight Royal Thai Army personnel have been safely transported to hospital following a hard emergency landing by a military helicopter, during a supply mission in Na Yuen district, Ubon Ratchathani province.

A 61-year-old ten-wheel lorry driver has surrendered to police following a fatal road rage incident in which he stabbed a fellow truck driver to death in front of the victim’s wife.

A Dutch expatriate has been arrested in Phuket, accused of defrauding a German woman of hundreds of thousands of baht. This arrest is part of a nationwide crime crackdown initiated by the Royal Thai Police (RTP).

Irish Woman Jailed in Norway for Cannabis Smuggling from Thailand

An Irish woman has been sentenced to three years in a Norwegian prison after being caught with nearly 30 kilogrammes of cannabis in her luggage. Jamie Mahon, 32, from Drogheda, Co Louth, was arrested at Oslo’s Gardermoen Airport on January 9th, following an X-ray that revealed two suitcases packed with cannabis, valued at approximately 600,000 euros (22.5 million baht).
