Im from Ubon R and I knew Joe well.

The visa video had a lot of info. Spot on mate.

When will you be doing the vid on work permits with no company structure required? I didnt know it was possible for a hubby and wife business.

Ive been living in Thailand for 12 years. A long time ago I contacted the legendary moderator named 'Ubon Joe' who was a visa specialist on the url:   thaivisa.com

As you probably know, he sadly died 2 years ago. Thanks to his advice I will be getting Thai citizenship.

The reason I originally contacted him was that I wanted to get Thai Citizenship. I was married and had a small business with my wife but we didn't have a company structure. When we first started our business my wife and I didn't want to start a limited company and register for VAT. We first wanted to see if our business would be successful.

Anyways, with Joe's help we came up with a plan which I will be doing a video about in the next 4 weeks on my youtube channel 'Durian Man Thailand'. I successfully obtained the WP and have used this WP to be accepted in the Thai Citizenship program. I will also be doing a video about tips for applying for Thai citizenship, on the basis of marriage to a Thai national, in the future.

To start with here is a basic video about applying for an Ext of stay based on Marriage- which Joe also helped me with.

Thanks for watching

Durian Man Thailand.

Nice video, thanks.

I am booked at CW tomorrow for a non-O extension renewal. I have all my documents ready to go (except bank which I will do in the morning) but this witness thing is new - as is the agreeing to punishments doc. I can't find that doc online, I assume they give it to you?

And for a witness can you just grab someone else who is there at the time? Surely they can't expect everyone to take a friend with them and waste two people's days?

Also no mention of witness on their requirements page:

Seems you have an appointment.

Make sure you have hard copy print out.

The first desk is document check desk

The gals will give you the additional forms you refer to.

Basically just sign them and fill in basics like name etc.

I not aware of CW requiring witness.

Hand lady your bank book and 200b.

100b for bank letter and 100b for deposit to show update and activity.

Ask her to photocopy this page with deposit.

Thank you, and yes I have an appointment. Also good new about the witness, I will report back tomorrow if there have been any changes there.

Thanks. I did that last year but when I got to the IO she asked me to go back and get a 12 month statement as well (even though I had well over 400k for much longer than 2 months). So I will probably do the same again just in case.

That's unreasonable.

For extension marriage a 3 month bank statement should be more than sufficient or even just photocopies of bank book should be enough provided there was activity in each month.

A report of your total experience tomorrow will be very helpful.

Congratulations, from what I've seen it can be a long and stressful road. I might go for it one day. I'd proper belt that national anthem out too. Well done!

Good to hear - and thank you for providing the info.

I've got as far as PR, but that was quite a tough process .... not sure if I want or need to take it further.

I visited the PR desk to compare to the citizenship requirements. PR is a lot more complicated and I found the staff to be hard core to deal with. Citizenship officials are so friendly and professional. Very good attitude towards applicants. You should go for it. The document requirements are easy.

Thank you .... that's an interesting observation.  The PR process was quite tough.

"CONGRAT'S"-Yes, Ubon Joe was the smartest one on "Thai Visa" (Aseannow) that knew all via any problems with Thailand Immigration/Visa problems. Definitely missed, may he "Rest-In-Peace!"
