Many Americans are witnessing immigration arrests for the first time and reacting

...

"More Americans are witnessing people being hauled off as they shop, exercise at the gym, dine out and otherwise go about their daily lives as President Donald Trump's administration aggressively works to increase immigration arrests. As the raids touch the lives of people who aren’t immigrants themselves, many Americans who rarely, if ever, participated in civil disobedience are rushing out to record the actions on their phones and launch impromptu protests.

...

Communities protest around ICE buildings

Arrests at immigration courts and other ICE buildings have also prompted emotional scenes as masked agents have turned up to detain people going to routine appointments and hearings."

Protesters gather after immigration raid targets car wash in L.A. County

June 20, 2025

"Protesters gathered in southeast Los Angeles County Friday evening, facing off with masked men in fatigues after federal agents detained at least three people at a car wash in the city of Bell, according to witnesses, and visited another car wash in neighboring Maywood.

...

The video shows another employee — wearing a bright green cap, a white long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans — ... tackled to the ground as customers and others gathered, with some taking out their phones to record videos.

...

In one video shared with The Times, a protester sprays white paint on a silver SUV and a voice can be heard saying, “Get the ... out of here!” while others jeer."

U.S. citizen released, no assault charges after violent ICE arrest in L.A. County

Jun 20, 2025

"Adrian Martinez, a 20-year-old U.S. citizen who was violently taken into custody by ICE agents in Pico Rivera, has been released from federal detention on a $5,000 bond, his attorneys announced Friday.

“We’re very grateful our client will be released today,” said attorneys from the Miller Law Group. “Adrian did nothing wrong, and was standing up for an elderly janitorial worker when he was violently assaulted and abducted by masked federal agents.”

...

Video footage shows at least six federal law enforcement officers in a physical struggle with Martinez, who works at a nearby Walmart. Amid the chaos, someone can be heard shouting, “He’s a U.S. citizen!”

‘To not speak out is to be complicit’: LA faith leaders mobilize amid Ice raids

Since federal agents descended on the city, faith leaders have rallied congregants, protested and devoted resources to serve immigrants

June 18, 2025

...

"Since federal immigration officers descended on Los Angeles on 6 June, dozens of faith leaders from across southern California – clergy in their long robes, Quakers in black felt hats, laymen and rabbis – have marched in demonstrations against workplace raids and mobilized to provide services to undocumented immigrants. Many spoke of their faith as a guiding force in their activism and devotion to help the most vulnerable.

...

“When I look at the scripture, when I look at the message and story of Jesus, he constantly is telling us to defend the most vulnerable,” said [pastor Kevin] Kang, a son of Korean immigrants. “In modern day, we’re all on stolen land, so how can we call somebody ‘illegal’?”

He's concentrating on attacking cities in states where he lost.

He's going soft on red states like Texas.

What a sleazeball! A president is supposed to apply his policies fairly to all the nation.

Hey Kevin, try reading the, ummm..............bible.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

You'll like this one!

Blessed is he who keeps the law.

This is one example of why ordinary Americans who see what's going on are turning against Trump and ICE's heavy-handed, dubious enforcement tactics:

Brad Lander Is Arrested by ICE Agents at Immigration Courthouse

Mr. Lander, the New York City comptroller and a candidate for mayor, was handcuffed as he tried to steer a man past Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

June 17, 2025

"Brad Lander, the New York City comptroller who is running for mayor, was arrested on Tuesday by federal agents at an immigration courthouse in Lower Manhattan as he tried to escort a migrant whom agents were seeking to arrest.

Mr. Lander, a Democrat, was observing proceedings at the city’s main immigration courthouse, at 26 Federal Plaza, where an increasing number of migrants who appear for court have been arrested in recent weeks by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. [emphasis added]

...

Videos taken by reporters at the courthouse show Mr. Lander standing by a migrant man in a hallway on the 12th floor when several men in plainclothes who appear to be law enforcement officers, some wearing masks, push past a crowd in the hallway to arrest the migrant.

Shoot Obama even built cages. When someone is arrested for say bank robbery they are separated from their kids too. But naaaa.

Whee is this outrage when bad things happen by people who should never even be in the country to begin with.

Vote Cuomo for NYC mayor.

I believe that's called "obstruction."

Just a misdemeanor, he'll be booked and released within a couple hours.  If it goes to court, he'd get probation or at most 20 hours of community service.

Nothing serious, but it's great optics for your facebook.

I'm being oppressed!
