On 24th June, a significant event took place at the Drug Testing Institute in Bangkok, as Thailand prepared to destroy over 28 tonnes of seized narcotics. Apikit Chorotprasert, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), presided over the opening of the drug warehouse.

Key officials, including Drug Testing Institute Director Kanyanan Kongphasnithiroj and other law enforcement representatives, were present to verify and release the drugs from 85 major cases, thoroughly tested before destruction from 26th to 29th June.

Apikit stated that this destruction demonstrates the government’s and the ONCB’s determination to tackle drug issues decisively.

The confiscated drugs, products of extensive law enforcement efforts, are now set for destruction to ensure they cannot re-enter society and cause harm.

The receipt and handover process occurred from 24th to 25th June, involving thorough checking against approved inventories.

Secured under strict measures, the drugs will be transported on 26th June to a facility in Samut Prakan for incineration. Officials will monitor the process, verifying the complete destruction by checking the ashes on 29th June.

Every step follows the Narcotics Act 2021 carefully, ensuring transparency and public confidence in the commitment to resolve drug problems and maintain community safety.

This batch includes drugs from 85 cases: over 24.39 tonnes, featuring 123 million methamphetamine tablets (11,272 kg), 12,281 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 699 kg of ketamine, 118 kg of heroin, and 18 kg of other narcotics.

They have a big drug seizure, a lot of photo opportunities and people standing around.

Then it is in the front door, and out the back door.

Word on the street at the time , probably true the reason for the coup against Thucksin ,he did a lot to do away with drug dealers, the army generals were not happy about the loss of income from selling their drugs, so they got rid of him , Welcome to Thailand
