Police from Khok Khram Station swiftly apprehended a 23-year-old man suspected of snatching a gold bracelet worth approximately 52,000 baht from a well-known gold shop in a shopping mall in the Nawamin area of Bangkok.

The incident occurred on June 30, when the suspect, later identified as Mr. Korakot, also known as “Tae”, entered the store pretending to browse gold jewellery. At approximately 20:15, he suddenly grabbed a 1-baht-weight gold bracelet and fled the scene on a dark blue Yamaha XMAX motorcycle, which had been parked with the engine running for a quick getaway.

The shop staff immediately alerted Khok Khram Police Station, and the incident was reported to the command centre at 20:20. Officers quickly arrived at the scene to gather statements and review CCTV footage. The footage revealed the suspect had travelled to the Chu Suwan community, located in Soi Nawamin 78.

Following this lead, police officers tracked the suspect down to the end of Soi Nawamin 78 in Bueng Kum District. At approximately 23:25 PM, three hours after the robbery, police arrested Mr. Korakot. The suspect was found in possession of the stolen gold bracelet and the motorcycle used in the crime.

The operation was led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and supervised by Pol. Maj. Gen. Nopphasin Poolsawat, Deputy Commissioner. The arresting team included Pol. Lt. Col. Trin Onnim, Deputy Superintendent of Khok Khram Station, and other investigating officers.

Mr. Korakot has been charged with theft and is now in custody awaiting legal proceedings.
