Hi everybody

Hope you can help with suggestions & advice. We are Andy & Liz, getting married next year 8/8/08

(No dont do it comments please :o )

Soooooo Thailand is one of the places we are considering for our honeymoon, this forum seems the best place to come for advice. We live in Scotland so would be looking to travel from ideally Aberdeen but could from Glasgow as well, via amsterdam? obviously the wedding's costing more than we thought so the honeymoon wont be 5 star, in saying that we dont really want to slum it either (mid range/budget)

Andy will want to dive whilst there so advice on best sites please. With the diving in mind we would obviously need to be on the coast but not one of the places heaving of tourists or the sex industry. All inclusive would also be a bonus for accomodation. Hope you can help with my first few questions.

The best diving in Thailand is in the Andaman Sea so one of the most logical areas that you might want to consider is Phuket which is near the best diving spots in Thailand and has many wonderful accomodations. Since you are into diving it should be pointed out that the time of year you come to Thailand will have a big effect on if or where you dive. Diving in Phuket is best from November through to May, when the calm seas and rain free days make diving there an extraordinary experience. However, monsoon winds and surface swells in the Andaman Sea during the rainy season, running from late May to October, can make many of remote spots inaccessible. Some of the national parks areas are closed to diving for part of the year and boats do not go out during certain times of the year.

Congrats on you upcoming marriage from a fellow diver. :o
