I really wanted this topic to be about the King and the farang guy disrespecting him but I wasn't sure how it would be recieved by the moderators as it was Royalty related and had I read the forum guidelines to confirm I wouldn't have had time to write the post.

Anyway, instead of picking up on this (it's quite obvious) everyone has shouted 'Wahey - bundle!' and all jumped on the thread stating what their favourite or home country is, turning my latest post into a primary school pissing contest.

Shame on you all.

P.S. Denmark is rubbish, my mate told me.

For every one of us who loves Thailand (myself included) there seems to be at least one other embittered, cynical, expat who goes through life hating everyone and everything Thai. I always wonder why they are still hanging around?

Because they can get laid on the cheap, silly :o

(Unlike where they originate from)

Has anyone mentioned Wales?

The Prince of Wales is for all intents and purposes a monarch.

Cardiff has some pretty wild nightlife; it also has some urban poverty.

I think you'll find a near perfect match with all the other criteria listed in the original post.

Is there a country out there that is more loved than Thailand?

Many countries are loved more than Thailand.

There is not much in Thailand.

A few beaches and very few mountains.

I know many countries far better, scenery wise.

Must be something else.

I guess,... :o

Had street fried squid with a new Thai friend/neighbour last night who told me that an ex of hers was actually jealous of the king.

It seems of little relevance but he was from Scotland and had no respect for Thailand or the royal family whatsoever.

How can you not like the King?

The king is somebody who for starters is farang friendly unlike some other people in power here - he has a love for his country which is so genuine it shines, he takes care of the poor, invents things, takes an active interest in his country and treats the rich and the poor with equal respect and even treats dogs with love and care setting a good example to all.

He's the ultimate good guy and is interesting as well as interested, anyone - ESPECIALLY a farang who has anything negative to say about the man should be horsewhipped until he learns how to respect and behave in another country, then he should be sent home (baggage class) in his underwear and banned permenantly from SouthEast Asia.

If I had met him and been unfortunate enough to listen to his ramblings I would have informed every Thai from taxi driver to policeman of his words and his whereabouts.

You won't find any country better than Thailand, the climate and the people are just perfect.

#1 THAILAND (even though the king will never ever be MY king)

#2 NORWAY (e.t. living expenses are +1000% compared to LOS)

#3 BRAZIL (e.t. there is no king but I'd anyway prefer a brazil princess instead)

#4 AUSTRIA (e.t. I still hope they realise ONE DAY that ausrian-hungarian monarchy times have been the better times)
