Why is the Pizza Company not "real pizza"?

Fried bread with the full English? Just to make sure those arteries are getting nice and clogged? I do have half a grilled tomato with mine as I believe that counteracts all the damage from the bacon, sausages, fried eggs etc. It basically makes it health food.

Hahaha......no bread and butter (Westgold salted is the best butter I can find).

Skinned plumb tomatoes for me.....love em.

  • The packets of ketchup they put in the box...

  • The sauce is way too sweet.   They add too much sugar in the tomato sauce. There's too much of it as well.

Pizza Company arguably has the worst pizza I have ever had the misfortune of eating.

Nope. But maybe you'll find out what the difference is between gourmet and gourmand.

There's gotta be an Italian owned pizzeria in Thailand that makes authentic pizza?

Bangkok for sure ..

Chef Bing on Ruam Rudee Soi 2 has pretty authentic NY pizza. The two brother grew up in Brooklyn & worked in a pizzeria. Closed 2-5, I think.

Pala Pizza at the BTS/MRT Asok junction is very authentic Roman pizza, imported flour & cheese. Lots of toppings.

No pineapple! You gotta be kidding me!

I have tasted worse in Thailand.  Never to be repeated.

Geez people, it's a Pizza, a flatbread, and can be what ever you want it to be, with any toppings you want on it.

Pizza is nothing more than a flat bread that evolved to the version it is now, with tomato sauce & cheese.  Sometimes meats & veggies added.  That others decided to add all kinds of stuff, including fruit seafood, etc, doesn't make it not a pizza.

Flatbreads are and have been used for desserts, like Puran Poli (an Indian sweet flatbread) to modern creations like sweet butter flatbread rolls. Sweet flatbreads often feature ingredients like jaggery, cardamom, or even chocolate and nuts, and may be served with toppings like honey, cinnamon, or fruit.

Get over yourselves.  But it's not traditional, like served in Italy ... thankfully.   I'll take the corrupt Yank version over real Italian pizza any day.

Will agree though, not a fan of PC's regular, thin crust or pan pizza offerings.  We only order NY Style, and only pepperoni.  Adds flavor the sauce & cheese may or may not have, as never tried a plain one.

The last time I orrdered from Pizza Company the seafood pizza had 1000 Island dressing as the sauce. Since then never again.

It has been encountered - I will assiduously avoid pizzas with Thousand Island dressing from now on.

The same with my ex wife and now girlfriend. I wanted to scream.

Food crime.

So why did you order it...twice?  Thousand Island is not the standard sauce on all 1112 pizzas.

Actually, he likely ordered 2 different pizzas, which both had that gunk on it. As many of them do.

The type of sauce is not specified on the menu, not shown in the photos, and when we have added the Thai for 'original tomato pizza sauce please' under the ordering options on the app, it has been ignored. 🙂

Is that the one with PINEAPPLE? Read that some pizza places in London are charging 4 x as much (100 quid) for such a meal, in order to stop people from ordering it. I personally can eat it, no problem.

Yea, pineapple. Always tastes great for me. I don't understand the hostility towards it. Of course, I like anchovies, too. And jalapenos. All good on my homemade pizzas.

Pineapple on pizza with ham is awesome; it seems to be an Italian cultural food problem that causes apoplexy.

Pizza made in TH for the Thai palate, who would have thought.  Had a few Thai versions, and tasty.  Not a fan of PC pan pizza, but there NY Style is one of the better versions and great value.   Especially when 2 for 1 promo is going and we get it, at least once a month on average.

Looks like real pizza to me ...

Based on this recommendation I ordered one last night. I thought it was good, and for sure the best I've had in Thailand. It wasn't sweet, the crust had the right amount of chewy, and it had enough cheese. Not as good as the best US ones.

The 12-inch pizza was 500 baht, which seemed like a bit much, but I'll keep an eye out for specials and order again.

That'd go good drizzled with Sriracha Sauce.

A true, authentic pizza is a soft airy base, fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes and fresh basil leaves.

What is often served as pizza nowadays is the American interpretation.

A true authentic pizza is made by the one who cooks it. Too many variations to say that there’s such thing as an authentic pizza.

There's only one authentic pizza.

You want Italian pizza ... go to Italy :coffee1:

I myself, prefer the corrupted US version, as that's what I was raised on.  I'm from Philly, PA, US, where South Philly, was all 1st, 2nd 3rd+ generation Italians.  So I know Italian food.

I was referring to the use of the word "authentic" in the OP.

I've not discussed what I want or prefer do I'm not sure why you made such a comment.

Authentic when ?

When it was slightly upgraded from a tapa stylish flatbread to a pizza, to 21st Century.  Personally, I think 'authentic' pizza sucks.  Authentic reminds me of an appetizer or side dish.

Authentic 'Italian' pizza ... looks almost like every NY Style pizza I like (pizza co), and like every neighborhood corner pizza place in Philly / old days, before every different version of pizza you could imagine hit the pizza scene.

I made a slice of pizza today, toasted a slice of sourdough and threw some pesto on it, pesto made myself with mac nuts. It’s the best authentic pizza available in my little village.

A Canadian invention apparently (pineapple on pizza). The first time I saw chicken on pizza was working in the UK. Weird and usually not very good - tomato sauce was always bitter. Pizza Express was ok I guess.

Say what you want about Pizza Co, whether hearsay, own made up BS, and or lack of actually eating there recently, especially if never sampled their NY Style pizzas.   We think it's one of the best around, and quite the bargain, on 2 for 1 promo, or present promo, basically the same, 2nd pizza 1 THB :cheesy:

Just dined in, 4 pizzas, a Caesar salad, order of wings & 2 waters ... all of 1087 TBH.

Not sure if Pizza Co's other brand offering Urban Pizza has been mentioned earlier. I prefer their product line, and a personal like-for-like comparison would be their pepperoni pizza. The sauce is definitely not as sweet as Pizza Co's and the sausage itself has a different taste. My son and I both prefer Urban's version. They don't do any seafood cocktail-like abominations either, and our other favorites are their Italian sausage with jalapeño and the white cheese pizza.

Putting mayonnaise on pizza or thousand island dressing instead of tomato sauce on a pizza should be grounds for execution.  An abomination.

^ Japanese make Miso pizza. Not sure this is proof for or against.🤣

I was having a night out with the boys, walking street.

End of the night time to eat.

I ordered a pizza, no bloody cheese.

Who sells pizza without cheese. 😂
