In the early hours today, a fire erupted in the car park of a popular hotel in Ban Rai, Uthai Thani, engulfing eight vehicles in flames. Local police are rigorously investigating to uncover the cause behind the blaze.

Responding swiftly to the alert, officers from Ban Rai Police Station, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Ekkarak Srisakda and Lieutenant Visanu Sopa, rushed to the scene with emergency services. By approximately 5:40 am, the fire had been contained. However, significant damage occurred in the car park, located about 150 metres from the hotel itself. The inferno ravaged six vehicles, which were completely destroyed, and left two others with minor damage. Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities were reported.

The car park's sunshade roof, designed to protect vehicles, was also entirely burnt in the incident. A hotel maid, alerted to the fire at around 5 am, attempted to extinguish the flames but was overwhelmed by their intensity. She quickly informed hotel security, who activated the alarm system to alert guests.

One hotel guest, who had been staying overnight, recalled hearing a car alarm at 4 am. Upon investigating, they discovered the vehicles ablaze and were relieved to find their own car unharmed, allowing for a safe departure.

While the immediate danger has been controlled, the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are meticulously examining the site to establish what sparked the blaze. The focus remains on ensuring such incidents do not occur again, keeping guests and their belongings safe.

As details emerge, the investigation continues to shed light on the circumstances leading up to this dramatic event. The local community and tourists alike watch closely for updates, eager to understand how such a sudden and destructive fire could have occurred. The cost of the damage runs into several hundred thousand Thai Baht, adding urgency to finding definitive answers.

In the meantime, guests and locals are reassured of increased safety measures due to this incident, as efforts to restore safety and security are paramount. The hotel has promised full cooperation with the investigation and has stepped up its internal review processes to prevent future occurrences.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the unexpected challenges hotels face in safeguarding their premises and guests. The local authority's swift response and the absence of casualties highlight the importance of preparedness and rapid action in emergencies.

Stay tuned for further developments as the investigation by Ban Rai police continues.
