You're raising the bar a bit quoting Milton on the forum. And one of Huxley's finest novels to boot...

How stupid is that from Starmer . The incentive is now on Hamas to keep  attacking Israel to keep the conflict going so Israel do not agree to a ceasefire .   Hamas now just needs to go full

  • What an absolute moron the UK has for a PM.        So if there is no ceasefire by September (which Hamas does not want as they don't want to return the sausages hostages) then this moron wil

Palestinians are not capable of self-governing.

Funny you should say that about the Palestinians.

It is exactly what the British rulers said about the American colonists in 1776.

If the Israelis don't get rid of the radical meshugas in their government and give the Palestinians a fair deal, and do it soon, the weight of international condemnation will become crushing - as it was with Apartheid South Africa - and the Zionist enterprise will collapse like a house of cards.

Amazing that someone so fond of International Law, appears to be willing to ignore it.

Quote

Under the Montevideo Convention, to qualify for statehood under international law, a state must have a permanent population, a defined territory, a government and the capacity to enter into relations with other states. The peers say that arguably Palestine does not meet any of these four conditions.

Judicial Review incoming.

Proposed by our moron of a Prime Minister but not agreed as yet and maybe never will be.

What's the hesitation here?

There is no longer any enlightened sympathy for Israel.

The "war" on Gaza and the Palestinians has become cartoonishly evil.

Only shills would defend the indefensible.

Wonderful quote... a literary precedent for "Bibi Agonistes".

Uncanny how Biblical history repeats itself - often without even changing place names.

We are seeing the "tragedy" of the rerun now.

The "farce" will come after the rampage to impose "Greater Israel" on the Middle East succeeds.

Then the stench of corpses will overwhelm everything, and the Zionist state will rot from within.

Labour and Hamas have many shared views and many shared goals. It's no surprise Hamas are fans of Starmer.

Agreed, the juggernaut of Eretz Israel  will be their downfall.

Just like the "victory" of Bolshevism in Russia led to bloody internal strife and eventual disintegration.

I guess it deflects attention away from the absolute state of Britain under his "leadership".

It would explain your extreme fundamentalist posts.

Maybe your lack of feeling towards dead kids is due to a traumatic experience you had as a child with a tea cloth.

At least I can spell "absurdity"  I hate being criticised by illiterates.

So how many gazan kids have you taken in or helped in any way whatsoever, hmmmm thought so.   Can't say  I blame you  nobody else wants the future bomb chuckers either. Much safer to virtue signal on the forums

Agreed, the juggernaut of Eretz Israel  will be their downfall.

Just like the "victory" of Bolshevism in Russia led to bloody internal strife and eventual disintegration.

Everything was running like clockwork in the great geopolitical circus. Gaza was sealed off just enough to keep the chaos contained and the international community politely distracted. The average American was busy arguing about gas prices, blissfully unaware that trillions of their tax dollars had been turned into sand and smoke somewhere between Fallujah and Kabul, all in the name of regional “stability.”

Meanwhile, Israel kept a firm grip on things, democracy-style, with high-tech fences, Iron Domes, and a diplomatic shield forged in the halls of Washington.

But then, as always happens in long-running occupations, the people being occupied had the audacity to want a state- borders, dignity, maybe even a passport that gets them farther than a checkpoint. And worse, they started telling the world what’s been happening behind the walls and embargoes all these years.

Suddenly, the carefully managed narrative, freedom vs. terror, good guys vs. rockets, started to wobble. Cameras rolled. Voices rose. The myth of the benevolent occupier cracked.

Now, the Status Quo is under threat. And for some, that’s the real tragedy.

Kudos to him for calling out Israel and looking for a solution to this problem, which Israel does not seem to want nor desire.

Natenyahu has joined the extremists and now there is virtually no hope for peace in that region. Most Jews around the world disagree with their policies. I find them atrocious and very racist. Israel cannot expect the violence to stop, until they develop a reasonable and humane approach.

The one thing you can always count on with Israeli politicians, is that they are incapable of learning. Just apply more and more violence. Slaughter more and more mothers and children. That will fix things.

Saying “Netanyahu has joined the extremists” is a bit like saying a shark has just now decided it likes the taste of fish. Let’s be honest – he didn’t suddenly veer into extremism – he’s been there as long as I can remember.

Back in the '90s, he was already working overtime to sabotage any chance of peace – especially by undermining Yitzhak Rabin, the only Israeli leader who ever got close to a real two-state solution. The toxic climate of incitement that led to Rabin’s assassination didn’t happen in a vacuum – Netanyahu helped fan those flames.

He’s spent decades aligning with settlers, cozying up to far-right religious parties, and dragging Israel further from any viable path to coexistence – all while posing as the level-headed statesman.

So no – he hasn’t joined the extremists – he’s been their architect.

And it’s not just outsiders saying this. Many Jews worldwide openly reject the racism and authoritarian tilt of his policies. Criticising Israel’s government is not antisemitic – it’s an act of moral responsibility.

If Israel wants the violence to end, it needs to end the occupation and start acting like a democracy for all – not just for some.
