Dear Folks,

CARNEY and Leon Russell....

Was Leon Russell and his album, Carney, the two most misunderstood things of the 20th Century?

Here is why:

One side ice.

One side Fire.

Who is not walking a tightrope, these days, in this comedy we call life?

Where did he get his lyrics, anyway?

And, what's with the war paint?

And, what's with his dissonant chords/

Maybe you are just too blind to see?

So, why was Leon not more popular among the popular crowd?

I guess most of the girls next door just didn't understand him.

Do you?

Best regards,

Gamma

Note:  The thing is....the girls next door did understand some of his lyrics.....

For example:  Well.....Going Down....The girls next door know about this, I guess....

What do you think?

Most girls these days know a thing or two about this.....

Leon Russell....

Don't mix him up with Leon Festinger.....

I just looked at Leon's wikipedia page.

He was a very active musician, no flash in the pan,

Leon worked in the studio, on the TV show Shindig's house band, and wrote songs for many, played on Tijuana Brass album's, was friends with George Harrison.

He really had a full life in music.

I was him perform once and he played for several hours, really seemed to like performing,

Very interesting guy.

Kudos to the OP - he puts a lot of time and thought into his posts.

But...   If he was trapped in a cave -  I would definitely not (in the words of Leon Russell) - "roll away the stone"
