UK’s Lammy Faces Fine After Fishing Trip With US VP

A single rod licence.

Most places will then charge additional fees, to actually fish.

Well lucky me then, having residence in Pennsylvania, U.S. of A. (currently in Nonthaburi, Thailand).   As either a senior citizen or a disabled U.S. of A. Army Veteran, I can fish for free in Pennsylvania.  I do have to pay for a stamp of some kind if I want to catch salmon (I think) or trout (I think).

My advice is, sell the carbon fibre rods and buy a box of dynamite.

Despite the minor legal wrangle, the encounter between Lammy and Vance highlights the ongoing connection between the UK and the US. The positive engagement suggests that while fish may have escaped Lammy’s line, diplomacy remains firmly on the hook.

And this is the topic that should have highlight the whole article, not focusing on a 'gotcha' for the foreign minister.

It's your buddy Jonny who keeps mentioning DEI.

Different circumstances entirely. They were deliberately trying to evade paying for a license for fishing in public waterways and got caught.

Lammy made a mistake in a private lake, immediately paid for the licenses and reported himself to the agency.

Like I said if he tried to get away with it or get it covered up he should face the exact same punishment.

It was a private lake?  Do you really need a fishing licence to fish in your own lake?  sounds bizarre....

If your lack of a driving or TV licence is brought to your attention by someone outside of the licensing authorities and you rectify your mistake immediately, then I doubt that you will be prosecuted.

On the other hand, if you receive a notice from the licensing authorities about the matter, then your luck's probably out and you'll most likely have to pay a fine.

Maybe put a reminder(s) in your calendar. Hope this helps.

Lee Anderson said that? With a straight face?

We should ask our resident fishery legal expert @The Cyclist.

But apparently yes, you do. I agree, seems weird.

Are you really fishing if you don't catch anything? 🤣

Fishing with no success is like attempted murder, still a crime.

I wonder how many police would be required for that village, and what the total cost of policing would be.

I know, let's ask Diane.

33 quid, 17 pence

Yes

It is a rod licence, not a fishing licence.

Thanks Ray.

But as you know I live in Thailand so thankfully there is no need for me to pay for Labour's state funded propaganda channel.

I dont even have to suffer the female commentators and pundits on Match of the Day now that AIS have premier league rights.

Happy days.

Ah yes. That's right. It's easy to forget that you don't live in the UK given your vociferousness about everything - and that's a lot - that you perceive to be wrong with daily life here, and the negative effects it has on us residents. Still, it's nice to know that you are concerned for our welfare.

These women eh? They'll be wanting the vote next!

Enjoy the games.
