No idea, I don't claim to part of that, only you and your ilk claim to know.
So far you've been wrong about everything,  its pretty awesome to see.

Don't hold your breath, you'll probably forget how to breathe.

Thanks for making everything so much clearer!

Trump is only doing what daddy Vlad tells him. Let's drive a wedge between the US and UK this week, and further destroy US manufacturing capability to Make Russia Great Again. Trump is a traitor.

It's amazing, isn't it? Raising taxes on American consumers resulted in more revenue for the government! Who woulda thunk it? 🙄

Estimates also exclude macroeconomic effects, which could reduce the net (real) deficit reduction from tariffs to the extent they lead to slower growth and higher inflation.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has estimated that tariffs in effect as of May 13 would generate $2.5 trillion of revenue through 2035 before accounting for economic effects, which is equal to about $2.3 trillion through 2034.

...we estimate higher tariff revenue will reduce real income and payroll tax revenue by reducing net real after-tax income.

Winning!  Winning!  Winning!

Oh, the winning!

It's bigly!

Another day another tariff madness from TACO man. Major trading partners redrawing the world trade map minus the US. People are avoiding going to US and US made products. Slowing labour market, rising debts and declining consumer sentiment. It is going downhill for Trump's America. The next Dem government will have lots to clean up from Trump's economic mess. Typical Republicans messing up the economy for the Dems.

The democratic party as we know it will dissolve, the only thing to clean up is the mess on the floor

You crack me up. Newsom will clean up Trump's mess if Trump still around next 31/2 years. His spell is broken and his base knows he is a lame duck.

I don’t advise the MAGA cult to wake up. That would be a waste of air.

So far all of the liberal hand wringing has been wrong. Its pretty nice to watch.

Really.

I guess that's why America can't sell corn and soybeans to China, 100,000 aluminium workers in the US are now unemployed, and Coca -Cola has run out of aluminium for its cans.

Not to mention Kentucky bourbon has zero market in Canada, which is selling its oil and LNG elsewhere.

Yes, it's nice to watch MAGA's making idiots of themselves on ASEAN, substituting their beliefs for facts.

My favorite MAGA belief: Countries exporting to America are paying the tariffs.

Are you claiming the Dems didn't know Hillary, Joe, Kamala were lame ducks?

Seems to me the US voters are only offered lame ducks!

Same as us Brit voters.

Best is not to vote, when offered no suitable candidates on the ballot forms.

I can’t speak for Hillary or Kamala as they have not reached the pinnacle of leadership but Joe has the proven records in economics and foreign relationships to qualify him as a successful POTUS. Moreover all the above are consensus seeking administrators and law abiding.

Trump is just the opposite as an authoritarian who never seek consensus among this staffs and will attack anyone who show signs of dissents and has absolute disregard for the constitution and the law.

We may make the mistake of voting unsuitable candidate on the ballot box but we can’t afford to make a mistake to vote in someone who is a convicted felon and break the law repeatedly and abuse the constitution. We can’t afford to cut ties to our traditional allies and side with the enemy. We may even not have an election in 2028. This is how dangerous Trump is for America.

Trump will leave the office in a political and economic wreckage and having less friends.

But does the US have any knights to sit around it? Importing British Knights will be too expensive given the 25% tariff on steel (armour).

Next he will offer them to become the 51st state in exchange for removing the tariff…. 🤪

But look at the bright side, “only” 3 years and 4 months before this cretin is out of office!

What the staunch Trumpees will not admit is that most of the  4 trillion is coming out of the average US of A's citizens pockets, again, robbing from the poor to help the rich & state coffers

"The tariffs have caught many by surprise, sparking significant concern in UK industry circles."

Many?

Really?

By "surprise"???

To the "many":  You do know who we are talking about right?

Of course they forgot about it. They got blindsided by Trump. Now they are blinded to all Biden did.

Where are our pro-Trump nationalistic RW Brit posters?

but I thought they had a deal at 10%.... confirmation nobody can/should trust Trump

Who's fault here ?

Fault of the UK and Europe who have been bootlicking America for the last 60 years.

No need to have a PhD in Economics to know that you never, never put all your eggs in the same basket.

The European Union was thought and established to counter the American economic domination on Europe. But what has the European Union become ? Plainly a servant and spokeswoman of America.

The best thing the UK did was to leave the EU. And it's the other europeans who say this now more and more.

Don't belive what I am saying. But those who have traveled in western europe and have spoken with the common man on the street would know what we are saying here.  Sorry no offence to anybody please. 🙏

Congress has the authority to impose taxes and tariffs. "The U.S. Constitution, particularly Article I, Section 8, grants Congress the sole power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts, and excises, which includes the authority to set tariffs on imports and regulate foreign commerce." The president may step in IF there is an emergency. There is no emergency other than a power mad authoritarian has cowed Republican controlled Congress into submission.

I wonder if it is possible for a business to sue Trump over his illegal taxes? Supreme court would probably cave, just as planned.

America is screwed, and taking the rest of the world down with it, if Trump has his way

Remarkable isn't it - such a blatant breach of the powers of Congress, so what has Congress done? Buggered of for a lengthened summer break!

It's a breach of power when congess surrendered its power to the executive branch.

The Constitution actually grants Congress the power to levy tariffs, but in recent years as a result of certain laws Congress has passed, the president and the executive branch have controlled when and how tariffs are placed on goods entering the United States.

Joe Biden is more responsible for high inflation than for abundant jobs

The main effect of the president’s economic policies has been to boost prices

You need new talking points.

They act like the Biden years never happened.

Triumph should export direct from Thailand, as current Thai/USA rate is only 19%. (@07-Aug).

It always makes me smile when I read idiots from the USA quoting GDP and the stock market whilst wholesale ignoring quality of life in the USA. They see only numbers.

But research quality of life for Americans and you see a whole different picture.

When I was a backpacker, I would meet Europeans out for the whole winter. All kinds of nationalities spreading their wings, but few Americans.

This is why they were known as two week millionaires, as they have few holidays, so compensate by splurging. Everything with them is money, money, money.

You see it on the forums here, often. In contrast European countries focus on quality of life. That's something many Americans cannot even imagine. It's like they were born of slavery and think being rich is the only way to buy yourself out of it. Dog eat dog and hating on each other. Therapists and medics doing a roaring trade with those totally dysfunctional people.

Writing about the derangement of others, whilst totally blind to their own. All I can say is if Trump represents the best of America...

You seem to have forgotten about the costs of keeping the economy afloat during the pandemic. Biden handed over a rapidly recovering, rugged economy.

Actually a lot of these Maga types are angrily jealous of our 'socialist' quality of life - but don't actually have the spine to do something about their own lousy conditions.

What tariffs did he increase on his buddy Putin or is his spine too weak for that.
