Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism has officially invited visitors to witness one of the country’s most awe-inspiring natural spectacles: the Equinox Angkor. Taking place from 21 to 23 September, the event draws thousands to Angkor Wat’s western entrance to observe the rising sun align perfectly with the temple’s central tower—a phenomenon steeped in ancient Khmer astronomy and architectural mastery.

From 5:00 to 6:30 a.m. each morning, the sunrise will illuminate the heart of Angkor Wat, revealing the precision with which Khmer builders designed the temple more than 900 years ago.
