Ford Truck Is Next To Go - Another Bargain

Featured Replies

Just a quick word to thank everyone for help in selling our bike. Turned out to be minimal paperwork involved and the eventual buyer knew what to do.

Now we have to sell the truck. I am just about to post an advert on the classifieds section, but again, wondering what needs to be done paperwork wise?

The truck too is little used, was bought (and serviced at) the Ford dealer here in Pattaya, and we were the first owner, from new. Guessing we need a residence certificate, but would appreciate any advice.

Many thanks

Just bought a pick-up, so won't need yours!

But indeed, both buyer and seller need a residence certificate from immigration. Previously only the buyer needed one!

The transfer forms need to be filled out and signed in the correct places, and you, the seller, need to sign of the blue book before the transfer can be done (same as the motorcycle book).

Depending on the value the transport department puts on the truck you'll have to pay between 3 and 6 thousand Baht transfer tax...

I had to pay close to 10,000 Baht on a 4 year old Toyota Tiger (they valued at 400,000 Baht, even though bought way cheaper!)

I did pay some 4000 Baht for back taxes the previous owner didn't pay and the compulsory insurance, so the actual transfer was around 6000...

Good luck!

I hope monty meant signed confirmation of your address from immigration.....not a 'residence certificate' else the stakes of living here have moved upwards again.

If you want to try to sell it on the internet then check out this site: www.100homecar.com

We advertised our CRV on this site and sold quickly.

Correct Geoff.

Luckily owning a vehicle is not (yet) restricted to foreigners holding a residency permit :o
