Thai Person Has To Show That It Was Actually Their Cash That Paid For The Realestate?

Featured Replies

Is that true? Does this mean that if I transfer funds to the account of the person whos name is going to be on the title to cover the price of the purchase that there could be big problems?

No, no problem at all. Just sign the papers as presented. We've done about 7 deals so far.

Arizonadave, I don’t know what your wife has to sign but it is you who will have to sign a form presented by the land registration office, saying that you have no claim to the land or something like that. If you are not in Thailand at the time the land is registered in your wife’s name, she can send you the completed form by mail, you sign it, get your signature certified by a Thai consulate, then return the form to your wife.

you have to renounce any claim to the land/house. in other words, you cant sue your wife next year if she takes the house and sells it because it was not your money.
