Yes, it's a lenghty route....and takes about 14+ hours if I'm correct:

"Route No. 2 : Bangkok--> Koh Samui (THB 1250)

The route starts from Bangkok

Bangkok --> Hua-Hin --> Chumporn --> Koh Tao --> Koh Phangan --> Koh Samui"

The ferry goes from Chumpon to Samui via Tao>>Phangan>>Samui.

The first part is by bus...

Tiring, but could be nice for the sightseeing.
