Four men have been arrested following the projection of images of US President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein onto Windsor Castle on Tuesday. The arrests occurred as Trump arrived in the UK for a state visit. Thames Valley Police confirmed that the men were taken into custody on suspicion of "malicious communications" after a swift response to the stunt.

The men arrested include a 60-year-old from East Sussex, a 36-year-old and a 50-year-old from London, and a 37-year-old from Kent. As Trump prepares to meet King Charles during the visit, authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which garnered significant attention. The stunt happened just one week after Lord Mandelson, the UK's ambassador to the US, lost his job because of his connections to Epstein.

Trump, who arrived in London late Tuesday, was greeted in Windsor by a display showing an image of himself and Epstein with the words "Welcome to the UK, Donald." Despite his previous friendship with Epstein, Trump has never faced formal accusations of any misconduct involving the late financier. The projection incident underscores ongoing tensions surrounding Trump's ties with Epstein during his UK visit.

Protesters gathered in Windsor as more than 1,600 police officers were set to be deployed in central London on Wednesday for a planned demonstration by the Stop Trump Coalition. While security measures were heightened, Trump and First Lady Melania's agenda included lunch with the Royal Family, visiting the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II, and attending a state banquet at Windsor Castle.

Key Takeaways

  • Four individuals were arrested for projecting images onto Windsor Castle as Trump arrived in the UK.
  • The incident coincides with heightened security and protests during Trump’s state visit.
  • An investigation is ongoing into the "malicious communications" act.

Demand a jury trial... probably have general public backing

While they were there, they could have also projected an image of Charles with his old pal Jimmy Savile.

Silly comment.

I have a British passport, but I also spent a lot of time in Bradford.

That sounds complicated. Do you know Bradford's last name?

Obviously too complicated for someone who thinks Windsor Castle is in London.

Are these the same four men who call themselves Led By Donkeys and post anti-British, anti-Brexit, anti-Trump tripe on You Tube? Either way they need to be investigated by the police, security services and HMRC and prosecuted to the full force of the law.

What crime did they commit to be prosecuted?

False. Following his arrival he went into central London overnight not Windsor.

Since when has truth been an offence?

The mental state of the sender is a key element of the offence and the prosecution must prove their case beyond reasonable doubt. In other words, they must make the court or jury sure that a person intended, or one of their intentions was, to cause distress or anxiety.

Ha.  I saw the photo on Facebook and just assumed it wasn't real.  Good to know it was!

London occupies a much smaller area than Pakistan. Pakistan is 95%+ Muslim, London's Muslim population is 15%. Urdu is the official language of Pakistan, English is the official language of the UK (and therefore, London). The climate in Pakistan and London are completely different. Pakistanis don't drink much alcohol, Londoners drink more.

I've never been to Pakistan but I don't think that I'd mistake it for London. However, many Pakistanis and some Londoners do share a love of cricket. Maybe that is what confused you?

How would you know?

Have you spent more than a couple of weeks in either London or Pakistan in the last 10 years?

The expression of democracy should be one that allows dissent, any president or world leader with even a small sense of humor and even a modest amount of self-esteem would not find something like this offensive. After all Don and Jeff were best friends for two decades.

This is the UK we are talking about here, not the USA.   Free speech is just dead in the UK, nothing to do with Trump.
