September 18, 2025Sep 18 Popular Post After my first visit to Thailand many years ago, I installed one back in Oz. Straight connection to the water line which is fed from a bore pump to the toilet. The pump can easily achieve 60 psi as I found out after first time use. Very good for removal of haemorrhoids and and other body tissues. Fitted a pressure reduction valve shortly afterwards. Eyes have since returned to normal vision. Took a while though.

September 18, 2025Sep 18 I was so impressed I fitted one, bought in Thailand the hose promptly exploded with the high pressures so I had to buy a 4feet long high pressure armoured hose and used that. Worked a treat although my kids refused to have anything to do with it. Here when they visit it is a problem because we never buy toilet paper and we have to buy it for them. Problem is septic tanks do not consume tissue paper so we have to pump out more often.

Had my plumber install one similar to above about 5 years ago in my house in the UK. it wasn't the first he had fitted. Only issue is I have a whole house pump and if that is running then yes it can be a little 'sharp'...........

I guess they're getting more popular over there now! You mentioned it can be a little 'sharp' when your whole house pump is running. I can imagine that blast of cold water is not exactly pleasant! 😂 I think one of the plumbers I use has actually installed one too, according to his Facebook. It would be really useful for my tenants as well, but I'm wondering how they hook it up to the hot water system? Cold water is a no-go! Was it complicated, or did you get one of those fancy Japanese washlet style ones? I've only ever seen a basic French bidet in the UK, I've never seen a bum gun fitted in a British bathroom before!

Mines cold water off the inlet for the cistern if I remember correctly - similar to the one above but I think teed into the pipe itself lower down. I was there when there was snow in November at that time and it was ok. If you put it on a hot feed pipe (say to the sink) I think you run the risk of potentially scalding yourself (or your tenants) unless you found a way to put a thermostatic valve on it........which sounds overly complicated and probably expensive........
