More to the point is why a so called comidian on network TV is blaming Trump and MAGA for the political assassination of Charlie Kirk when this is obviously BS.. Maybe it's time for you to stop getting all your "news" from CNN

More to the point is why is anybody not allowed to say what he wants on TV provided it is within the law.

Stuff your MAGAlamanical posturing and sensibilities.

The USA used to be the land of the free.  Now it is the MAGA land. Toe the line or suffer the consequences.

And two affiliates had had enough. Kimmel blantantly lied on national TV and with his show tanking this was the opportunity to dump him. This was a corporate decision. There's accountability and Kimmel has been held accountable.

Yes, Sinclair and Nextstar have both said they will not run Kimmel show. They are both heavily involved in buying/selling/transfer of TV station licenses that require FCC approval.

They are allowed to say anything they want as long as it is within the law.  Has Jimmy Kimmel been arrested?  No.  So you can conclude his free speech has been protected.   The right time to complain about cancel culture was about 10 years ago when it was happening the people you didn't like.

Perhaps you cannot remember a time before Trump so here are a couple of reminders...

That is true if you believe the left. He lied about the shooter to make a political point on national TV (not a joke/comedy) and has been held accountable for his actions.

Being a US citizen, I'm horrified at this. My home country is quickly being destroyed from within. 😡

If you're so horrified what are you actually doing about it? Other than living in another country while screaming about socialism.

I moved to Thailand over 20 years ago. Then, there were not these types of activities going on in our government, or at least not as many as there are now.

What am I doing about my worries about the USA now? I'm living in Thailand; I'm screaming about the growth of fascism in the US government on social media (like these forums), and I vote in the presidential elections. And, yes, I do advocate a transition from our (USA's) economy, which is now a mix of capitalism and socialism, to a higher percentage of socialism.

Sad fact.  Each and every day with him as president diminishes the USA as a democratic country. Time to put it to a stop.

We can only help these polls continue to show America's disapproval of him. Falling like a rock.

Hey you! We only want news, comments, including history comments emphasizing the positive. Obey and support the official US federal government goals by trump who was elected two carry out the Project 2025 goals by an overwhelming numbers of eligible voters (excluding those who should not be allowed to vote because they have foreign sounding names or their families were in what became part of the USA after we took about 1/2 of Mexico in the 1800s).

So you are doing nothing. Keep up the great work.

I think you'll find that is the trans / woke brigade who are leading the way on that.

When you're unfairly targeting by a fascist BULLY (the biggest bully in the world these days) you either cower and cave or your FIGHT BACK.

Win or lose against the dark dystopian anti-democracy/anti free speech power in the white house, this is the kind of NON VIOLENT resistance that we need to see a lot more of.

A summary of the pushback:

I guess there aren't many Kimmel fans here but I'll miss that it was the only west coast based show in that category. He regularly did some extremely funny interactions with the public on Hollywood Boulevard that couldn't be done the same elsewhere. And more than anything I'll miss his hilarious sidekick Guillermo. Maybe he'll even get his show back but if not he'll move on to something new but if it's new format it probably won't include Guillermo.

They've talked about cancelling that show for 2 yrs. Had nothing to do with your daddy

That is a LIE.

It had everything to do with Trump's pressure.

If you don't love Guillermo, you must not love puppies.

Trump made Guillermo SAD.

Of course it did. And now Disney is losing customers worldwide because of this cancellation. I've just cancelled my subscription. Disney would never do that to themselves.

The rumours are they are trying to get Kimmel back somehow.

Losing 3 billion subscribers is hard core.

Disney has been tanking for a long time. Im sure it has nothing to do with the slop they have been putting out for years.

Flop after flop.

More precisely, FCC license rules applies to over the air broadcasts, not entertainment carried only on cable (or fiber optics now, [which people pay to watch]).
