roog
Hi, I'm marrying my Thai mf g/f soon and she tells me we have to go to the British embassy before the marriage for some paperwork. I called the embassy to check - they said no need. My g/f insists we have to go there "for the papers". The only reason I can think of would be to register the marriage in the UK (at the embassy). I am divorced (in the UK). We will have to visit the visa section afterwards for her UK visitors visa application. Thanks.
tominchaam
If you intend to have your marriage registered in Thailand you have to have a letter from your embassy. If you make a search at this forum you will find detailed information.
Tywais
You need a letter of confirmation of freedom to marry (showing you are single or divorced) and needs translated to Thai and stamped by the MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
