Trump, Netanyahu Agree on Gaza Peace Plan Pending Hamas

In a significant move towards ending the Gaza conflict, US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have agreed to a comprehensive plan. The proposal aims to cease hostilities in Gaza, but its success hinges on Hamas' acceptance.

Trump unveiled his 20-point plan, which includes the creation of a temporary governing board under the direction of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The plan, according to an official speaking to AP, is currently under review by Hamas. It crucially does not require residents to leave Gaza and demands the immediate cessation of warfare if mutually accepted. A pivotal element is the release of all remaining hostages by Hamas within 72 hours following Israel's acceptance of the plan.

Trump assured Israel of the "full backing" of the United States to take necessary actions against Hamas should they reject the peace deal.

This development follows ongoing efforts to broker peace in the region, amidst escalating tensions. While Trump and Netanyahu have solidified their positions, the region faces uncertainty as Hamas deliberates on the proposal.

Key Takeaways:

  • Trump and Netanyahu's plan aims to end the Gaza conflict with a 20-point proposal.
  • Hamas' acceptance is pending, with a decision expected to impact peace prospects.
  • The plan includes a temporary governance structure involving Trump and Tony Blair.

Did you notice there is an amnesty for Hamas personnel in that plan?

I doubt Israel can accept that, there's too much hate there.

They made up a plan to offer peace knowing fair well hamas will not accept what the terms are in that plan. So it then gives them the right to continue levelling Gaza and use the excuse of they offered peace and it was turned down as the reason Israel gets to continue with it's plan.

Or trump has offered Bibi loads of money for himself in exchange for it to stop for a while so it increases trumps chance of a nobel peace prize and the chance he could get elected again , promising Bibi more cash in the future from the pockets of the USA.

It’s another plot to bolster BB’s plan to ethnically cleanse the place. Suggest a deal that is impossible then use it to justify murder. This is because of significant recent backlash Israel has been getting, so they’re trying to play the victim/ righteous card again. Doubt it will work as the Charlie Kirk, Qatar, diminishing US support, announcements of coalition support in the region against Israel etc issues will be hard to overturn.

There is no plan without the involved participants. More like a plot than a plan.

I like the general description of the plan, including the return of the hostages and the removal of the IDF from Gaza. The only thing I would recommend adding is the criteria for moving forward, first for a two-state solution, and if no agreement is reached on it, a one-state solution.

The two-state solution should divide the country as specified in the original 1947 UN resolution.

The one-state solution should give all the land back to the Palestinians, and relocate the Israelis back to Goshen in Egypt, from where they originated.

Well,

For me an invitation to Bibi to continue and accomplish the genocide then

Even as we read this article, Hamas terrorists are trying to kill and kidnap Israeli soldiers for better bargaining powers, this thing will never end, Palestinian state or not, they hate Isreal blaming them for everything under the sun, this thing isn't going anywhere no matter what agreements will be put in place.

If my grandfather and my grandmother, and my father and my mother, my sister and my brother, would have been killed by IDF, do you think I would see Israelis as partners? As friends? Never ever.

This was the point of my post, the hate and the animosity is there forever and no 'peace' or new state will fix it.

Just so understand that almost all the hate is coming from the Palestinian side' who keep teaching their new generation to hate and take revenge, just Imagin a society that build itself on hate and revenge and life by the gun, they will not get far, no matter right or wrong.

Apparently, it is acceptable to Netanyahu.

And how come suddenly bibi seems to be agreeing to this plan. It's been said a hundred times bibi wants the war to continue to ensure he stays in power. No war bibi automatically has no PM position.

I think he will sabotage it at the first opportunity.

It's understandable and tragic.

For me a "peace" is only guaranteed by UN troops and defined borders of Palestine.

The realistic view onto this conflict will include further bloodshed.

I don't agree that all the hate is coming from the Palestinian side.

for the IDF to carry out the atrocities it does, the soldiers have to see the Palestinians as de-humanised, society has to be responsible for that and Israel media has spewed hate in the past.

I watched a video this morning of Israeli Jews spitting at Christians, there has to be incredible hate there to do that.

That will not be  guarantee of peace .

UN troops will just replace the IDF and Hamas will attack the u.n troops

I think you are wrong.  I think Palestinians will always hate Israelis but will make a peace work if Gaza does not become an open prison.
