Hardly surprising, they were given new fitness tests to adhere to twice a year. Hardly welcome news for anyone. Plus they were told to toe the line.

What did you expect, they'd whoop and hollar in excitement?

Hardly worrying. There are already army combat fitness test calibrated to be age-normed. Not surprised the ex-Fox guy didn't know that. I hope this new fitness tests are extended to the morbidly obese Commander-in-Chief. He is not a good look.

I bet there were lots of meetings among both the attendees and retirees immediately after that <deleted>fest in all the Hotel bars in the area!

That is exactly what 'lil Pete and Trump expected. That's why Trump started begging.😂

Yes, however, the media savvy Mr Trump wanted an opportunity to be in the news surrounded by military. Can you blame him?

Yes, we can.

Yes, but he keeps it very short so it doesn't tickle the sofa.

Let me get this right.

The “President of Peace “ has declared war on “woke” citizens in U.S. cities which have seen crime figures go down year on year.

Go back to cheating at golf Mr President. It’s what you do best.

Oh, also: will you condemn the US supporting thugs who threw beer at the wife of the triumphant European captain?

Maybe just roll out your “ There were good people on both sides” BS .

Yeah, that’ll work with your toothless ding a ling supporters

Hey, Hegseth is a fitness fanatic, I'm sure it's his idea.

I don't believe that either Trump or Hegseth impressed the audience.  🤔

They are both very unimpressive men. Especially Pete. My guess is that these highly accomplished career Generals and Admirals do not appreciate being lectured to by a former Fox News host, who is very unqualified for that position.

But...George III  was the first British monarch to study science systematically.[8]

Apart from chemistry and physics, his lessons included astronomy, mathematics, French, Latin, history, music, geography, commerce, agriculture and constitutional law, along with sporting and social accomplishments such as dancing, fencing and riding.

I've seen the new king's dancing. 555

Well he was certainly more accomplished than Trump, who can't dance and knows nothing about science. astronomy, mathematics, French, Latin, history, music, geography, agriculture and constitutional law.

imagine how all those high ranking men, many who have walked the walk, having to be lectured by some part time soldier cum tv reporter on how to carry themselves and how to behave.

The video I saw of Hegseth, he was trying unsuccessfully to do a pull up. So much for telling all those generals they need to do biannual fitness tests.

What lesson would that be?

Storm the US Capitol, beat and bear spray 140 police, and search for the Vice President to hang him....and then get pardoned? And all of it fomented by a pathological liar and crybaby who could not accept he lost?

Great news, who wouldn't support President Ocasio-Cortez flushing out the underbelly of MAGA criminals hiding in the shadows.

Go get 'em AOC!

This will just keep flipping back and forth depending who is in power.  Biden goes after MAGA Capitol Hill protestors, calls them insurrectionists, and hammers them with lengthy prison sentences.  Now Trump goes after "Extreme Left Wing" by calling groups like ANTIFA out as insurrectionists, they'll be arrested and the Trump DOJ will push for lengthy prison sentences.  When the Democrats get back into office, they'll pick more conservative targets; When Republicans are back in office they'll pick more progressive liberal Leftists, and back and forth and back and forth.

Just like the Lawfare Genie, the Biden Administration let the Insurrection Genie out of the bottle.  Good luck stuffing them back in again.

In the old days, the Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) warfare training stated that beards could block the seal of protective masks.  Not sure when beards came back into vogue since then, but maybe everyone wanted to look like Delta force.

True, true, but the left has been criminalizing those on the right for decades already, it's nothing new. Sure, Republicans won't be in power forever, and the left will go after MAGA eventually, no doubt about it.

I just don't see why ANTIFA criminals should be allowed to go on sporadic binges of destruction with impunity, and with Joshua Jahn and Robinson we see they do not just target property either.

Besides, I don't think any government can tolerate the onslaught of violence we see in Portland, Dallas and other places.

A question: does Mr Hegseth actually blow his nose on the handkerchief he invariably carries in his suit jacket breast pocket?

Well, that's very kind of you. But don't you think it's rather funny, how the liberal media had been implying this meeting at Quantico was some ominous prelude to a world takeover? And it turns out all they wanted was to put in place better grooming rules and "no fatties"?

This presidency is by far the funniest we have ever seen.

Guess you missed the part we’re trump was telling the military to use American city’s as a training ground for war using Americans as fodder??ehh that whole debacle went over like a lead balloon….I could almost hear the hostility in the audience.Im proud of the professionalism shown by these for real serious professionals.enough theater!

No, he just blows the guy in charge.

Strangely, Hegseth told the audience it’s fine to use violence when training soldiers — no doubt resonating well with the Warrior-in-Chief, Bonespurs.

Trump went further — use America’s cities as training grounds, with tear gas, pepper spray, stun grenades and 'shoot ’em in the legs,' and with both men leading by example, rape wouldn’t be off the table either.

If discipline once meant 100 push-ups, Hegseth now wants to trade it for a whipping — though a recruit with true 'warrior ethos' is just as likely to give a 'fragging' back.

The imposition of martial law in the lawless ghettos of American cities is a hotly contested issue.

As anyone who has been there knows, the situation in recent years has gone from criminality to a level of savagery usually associated with places like Haiti and the urban centers of sub-Saharan Africa.

The extremes of a military presence or total chaos and gang rule are the alternatives that face the people who live in or near those places.

Traditional policing, public education, and most social structures have broken down.

It's not a good choice, but it's the only one there is.

Now if you will excuse me the wife and I will do our 3 mile walk (every morning btw) were we will encounter other folks walking their dogs starting their day wondering what this nonsense is all about.there are pockets of lawlessness in every big city in every country on our planet.this deployment of the military in our city’s is theater for tha magga base.it is a ploy to divide us further.no more no less as trump and his enablers try to strangle our democracy recognize it for what it is and VOTE!!

That comment of Trump's about taking out anyone in a uniform was rather chilling. If I worked for McDonalds in the U.S. I'd be rather worried.

Maga will not blame him for that listless and uninspiring opportunity. The brass in the room were not impressed and remain silent but applauded at the end of his speech. Brutal reality.

I would take that applause at the end as more of the philosophy behind the salute: you salute the office/commission, not the holder of same. They have to salute the bone spurs hero and his sycophanchor sidekick.

Hegseth did see some active and dangerous combat service but I suspect that his ludicrous and idiotic Foxy ravings told his audience that he hasn't understood the US military's ethos (which I was able to watch at close quarters over a considerable period of time) nor does he have the ability or will to learn it. He was also accusing them by inference of being incompetent and unprofessional. Whereby they are leaders of probably the most successful and powerful military in history.

I suspect many of them may have felt like Wehrmacht generals who after years of resistance were finally forced to swear allegiance to the former corporal who'd also been a front line soldier at one stage.

The whole event was borderline treasonous and crassly negligent. Collecting the entire top echelons of all services in one room at one time was a major strategic error. One strike and they'd all have been out. And just one with a communicable disease and the entire chain of command could have been put out of action - possibly even dead.

Led by donkeys indeed - although that is unkind to donkeys in this case.

Is America great yet?
