Trump Wants US Cities as Military Training Grounds

US President Donald Trump has proposed using American cities as "training grounds" for the military, highlighting "civil disturbances" as an "enemy from within" during an unusual address to military leaders. This announcement follows Trump's deployment of National Guard troops to several cities, including Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Portland. In his speech, he criticised Democratic-led cities and indicated the continuation of using military for law enforcement, aiming to "straighten them out."

The address took place at Marine Corps Base Quantico with heightened security and included Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth's call for the end of "woke culture" at the Pentagon. Hegseth also announced new physical fitness standards and a shift towardss a greater "warrior ethos". Trump supported these changes, stating the need to focus on "fitness, ability, and character" to protect national security and praising the rebranding of the Defence Department as the Department of War.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker accused Trump of acting like a "petty tyrant" by deploying military and ICE in US cities, and some military experts questioned the necessity of the in-person gathering, which included senior personnel from global locations. Attendees were drawn from different military branches and wore campaign medals from past operations, sitting according to their service affiliation.

Key Takeaways

  • Trump proposes American cities as military "training grounds."
  • Hegseth ends "woke" culture and announces new fitness standards.
  • Criticism follows deployment of military in US cities.

Of course he does.

He also doesn't want there to be another real election starting in 2016.

Militarizing cities is part of his fascist plan to end American democracy.

It's working.

Yes, Trump is now actually talking about using military force and "going to war" against fellow Americans.

"Trump suggested the generals and admirals would be crucial to his fight against the “enemy from within” and could use the homeland as a “training ground.”

“We’re under invasion from within,” Trump said. “No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways because they don’t wear uniforms.”

and

He added: “In our inner cities – which we’re going to be talking about because it’s a big part of war now. It’s a big part of war.”

At another point: “I told Pete, we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military – National Guard, but military. Because we’re going into Chicago very soon.”

There’s really nothing to be afraid of with having a military presence in the neighborhood, grew up on an island that had constant military activity, it wasn’t uncommon to see a tank rolling down the road every now and then.

A military coup in the offing? Nah. not in the USA. But...........

Trump also said he's immediately going to fire any general, admiral or whatever who does anything he doesn't like, or just because Trump doesn't like the guy/woman.

Trump, Vance, Hegseth and co. are all self declared big 'alpha males', while in truth they are nothing more than whiny little coward biatches who can't hold a candle to any of the brave men and women who are leading the American military.

I'm sure the Generals and Admirals were stunned to see that the strategic genius and wisdom of Trump and Hegseth was off the scale. Unfortunately the wrong end of the scale!

The imposition of martial law in the lawless ghettos of American cities is a hotly contested issue.

As anyone who has been there knows, the situation in recent years has gone from criminality to a level of savagery usually associated with places like Haiti and the urban centers of sub-Saharan Africa.

The extremes of a military presence or total chaos and gang rule are the alternatives that face the people who live in or near those places.

Traditional policing, public education, and most social structures have broken down.

It's not a good choice, but it's the only one there is.

trump is a clear and present danger to my country. I can not sit on any Grand Jury nor Trial Jury in the USA judging anyone involved in removing him from office …

Just more over the top, obnoxious, autocratic behavior from the wannabe strongman, who went so far out of his way to avoid military service himself, and yet claims to support the military. He is a coward. My guess is that he's truly despised within the military ranks, as is his lap dog Hesgeth.

These kind of things happen at the very beginning of an autocracy, if Trump is not stopped, if he has his way democracy in the US is finished, free speech is finished, the ability to protest and show your disagreement with policy is finished. The goon will become the new king after 250 years without one.

Letting the military loose in the US homeland was outlawed after the Civil War and was considered gross Federal overreach and made illegal via the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878. But then Trump uses the Insurrection Act by branding Antifa and illegal immigrants as federal emergencies.  And it looks like he'll brand other groups as "terrorists" and "insurrectionists."

Imho, it is Federal overreach. Congress could rein it in if they had the sack.  Obviously they don't nor do they see the danger of allowing the military to command American streets.

Yup, America gained independence from the rule of George III who was born to German parents and struggled with mental health, and they now have...............oh, dear.  Seems a little ironic really.

But...George III  was the first British monarch to study science systematically.[8]

Apart from chemistry and physics, his lessons included astronomy, mathematics, French, Latin, history, music, geography, commerce, agriculture and constitutional law, along with sporting and social accomplishments such as dancing, fencing and riding.

I've seen the new king's dancing. 555
