Air Arabia will increase its services to Thailand by adding a third daily flight between Sharjah and Phuket from 15 December, citing strong demand from travellers in the United Arab Emirates. The low-cost carrier currently operates two daily services, one in the morning and one in the evening. The additional evening flight will be operated using Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft, in line with the airline’s existing policy.

The expansion comes as Air Arabia prepares for the high travel season and responds to a steady increase in tourist numbers from the UAE to Thailand. The airline’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Adel Al Ali, confirmed that demand has been the driving factor in the decision. He noted that the Phuket route has shown consistent growth, reflecting the destination’s popularity among holidaymakers from the region.

In addition to Phuket, the carrier will boost frequencies to Bangkok and is set to launch new direct services to Krabi on 28 November. The upcoming winter schedule will also broaden its international network with more routes across Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia. These developments highlight the airline’s strategy to expand capacity in response to seasonal peaks and changing travel patterns.

Industry observers suggest the increase in Thai flights could further strengthen tourism ties between the UAE and Thailand, while also supporting Phuket’s status as a key international destination. The move is likely to benefit both leisure and connecting passengers, given Air Arabia’s hub operations in Sharjah. Aviation analysts also point to the potential competitive effect on fares in the regional market.
