August 18, 200718 yr do i need any documents to return or cancel my workpermit??? how long does it take normally? thanks. [/quote] I need to know the same, flying out of BKK Monday evening, was going to go to the government office Monday AM with my work permit to hand it in, can I hand over power of attourny with my wp10 form, and work permit, some one said something about a 10 baht duty stamp, I know you need to leave within 7 days which i am, but do I need to get a stamp in my passport? Will it matter? Can I just give the forms to a friend to give with my work visa to hand in and leave the country???? Or am i legally or morally required to go personally???? URGENT
August 18, 200718 yr I handed mine to the lawyer, who made it. and i came back to thailand no problem.

Just leave the country and the exit stamp from Immigration (which will end your visa) will automatically end your WP. As soon as you re-enter Thailand on a new non-imm B visum you'll go through the process again. Regarding the cancellation of the WP, your former employer will take care of that, because he is expected to pay taxes. Paying taxes is the responsibility of the carrier of the WP, but the employer has to pay actually. To be honest: it's the Immigration Department that enforces the 7 day rule and everybody knows that is merely impossible to change teaching jobs (+ teachers' license + work permit applications) within this period.
August 25, 200718 yr You simply hand your WP to your employer. It is their duty to cancel it, I believe.
