August 15, 200718 yr Hi, True advised that we have to change the SMTP mail server from mail.truemail.co.th to mxauth.truemail.co.th and set the smtp to 'requires authentication'. I did that and now they reject my login info. Am I doing something wrong? opalhort

Use the checkbox instead of write the username and password again! I had similar problem once before some longer time ago!
August 15, 200718 yr Author You set the authentication to "Same as for incoming Mail"?Use the checkbox instead of write the username and password again! I had similar problem once before some longer time ago! Yes I did that. Strange thing is that when I revert back to the original settings (mail.truemai.co.th and no authentication) all is OK. I did not modify any user or PW settings. Since TRUE has set a dateline for 1.9.07 could it be they have not yet moved all user info to the new SMTP server? Are you able to send from TRUE using the new settings? opalhort
August 15, 200718 yr I use mail.trueinternet.co.th which didn't need authentocation either! Anyway I use only the SMTP from TRUE but I've my own Mailserver in house. I could even use the SMTP from No-IP.com! May True didn't set the system yet!
August 16, 200718 yr Author Problem solved. On one PC I had the account name set to "[email protected]" and after changing the new SMTP settings it worked OK. On an other PC, which I usually use for e-mails, the account name was only set to "myname" (no "@truemail.co.th") and it worked well until I changed the SMTP settings. Now after changing the account name to "[email protected]" with the new SMTP settings all is okay! Thanks for your input Reimar. I realize that I should experiment more first before asking silly questions. opalhort EDIT: PS. This appears to show that True did not verify the full account name in the past but only the user name, this is why I have been able to send out mail with an incomplete account name (not on purpose - just an oversight on my part in the account setup).
