The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has confirmed the schedule from October 26 to March 28, reflecting rising global confidence in Thailand as a premier travel destination. Major airports across Thailand are gearing up to accommodate the influx. Suvarnabhumi will manage the highest number of arrivals with 127 airlines, including cargo services. Phuket will serve 68 carriers, Chiang Mai 30, Don Mueang 17, U-Tapao 11, and Samui will see two. China, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Cambodia are projected to lead in international flight routes. New entrants like United Airlines will feature a Los Angeles–Hong Kong–Bangkok route, while Norse Atlantic UK will operate from London Gatwick and Manchester to Suvarnabhumi. Thai AirAsia X plans new routes from Riyadh and Almaty to Don Mueang, with additional services by Air France, Norse Atlantic Airways, and Etihad Airways. Despite fewer Chinese carriers, Chinese airlines still account for 31% of international services, with India and Vietnam following at 13% and 9% respectively. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organized 731 charter flights from China to offset the decline, part of the Thailand Summer Blast campaign aimed at increasing arrivals in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, and Rayong. Specific charter routes include 103 flights from Wuxi–Bangkok and 93 from Jinan–Bangkok, among others. This strategy is designed to enhance Thailand’s appeal amid a slowdown in Chinese tourists. Moving forward, Thailand aims to sustain this growth and further establish itself as a top travel spot. The increase in flights and routes is expected to bolster the economy and invigorate the tourism sector. Key Takeaways Thailand will accommodate 255 airlines this winter, boosting tourism. China remains the largest source of flights despite fewer carriers. New routes are launched by major airlines, enhancing connectivity.
