A curriculum is all the courses taught in a school--Thai, English, Maths etc...

A syllabus is all the subjects taught within one course--English--grammar,vocab,comprehension etc...

The government schools are closed on Monday so enjoy another long weekend!

less common as a synonym for syllabus is syllabai. Don't think there's a difference except that you can make the first plural.

I thought the plural was spelled syllabi. Silly me. Are two Volkswagen buses microbi? Two British sports cars Loti?

No, it's all in the pronunciation.

However, perhaps the language experts could tell me this. The town of BICESTER in the UK is pronounced Bista

The town of TOWCESTER is pronounced Towsta

So why is not the town of CIRENCESTER pronounced Srinsta? The locals call it Sirensesta!
