That is because the USA tragically now has a Putin like leader. 

There is no contradiction at all in opposing Trump, Putin, and Maduro.

If the Venezuelan opposition to Maduro finds support in Trump, well, you can't really blame them.  They would be crazy to reject such a gift horse.
