Authorities in Krathum Baen, Samut Sakhon, have dismantled a large illegal e-cigarette storage site containing an estimated hundreds of thousands of items, triggering an immediate crackdown on local distribution networks. Pol Col Phasaphong Monta, Superintendent of Krathum Baen Police Station, confirmed that the raid took place on the evening of 8 December 2025 after officials received intelligence about a significant stockpile of prohibited products. Three residents found at the property, one man and two women, were detained for questioning as officers secured the extensive haul of pods and vaping liquids.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Customs Department, Krathum Baen Police and district administrative officials, who searched a rented house in Talat Krathum Baen. Officers said the house had been leased by a group in October, and evidence suggested it was being used as a major storage point for e-cigarette products intended for sale. Investigators found both small and large cardboard boxes openly stacked, containing pods and liquids without any attempt at concealment.

Labels affixed to the boxes matched the products inside, listing product names, specifications, quantities, weights, barcodes, and identification numbers. Many boxes also bore the inspection stamp “OQC 30 – 08 – 2025 PASS,” indicating they had undergone quality checks prior to entering the country. Officials noted that the lack of concealment suggested confidence in the scale and organisation of the smuggling operation.

Customs officials transported the entire stock to their Khlong Toei office in Bangkok for a full count, expected to confirm a total of more than one hundred thousand items. The three detained individuals are being questioned to determine how the goods were brought into Thailand and to identify the wider network responsible. Authorities said the case involves offences under the Customs Act B.E. 2560 for importing goods not cleared through customs, as well as violations under the Ministry of Commerce’s 2014 prohibition on importing shisha, electric shisha, or e-cigarettes, which carry penalties of imprisonment and fines.

Naewna reported that Pol Col Phasaphong stated that Krathum Baen must remain an “e-cigarette-free zone” and that vendors will be removed in line with directives from senior commanders. Officials said the raid demonstrates a continuing commitment to eliminating illegal vaping products from the area. Further enforcement actions are expected as investigations expand into the supply chain.
